Hermione starts playing with his face Tiny Way to Die chapter 13 by copier · original author: wannnaone

As you sat awkwardly at Hermione’s feet, doing your best to ignore the faint, salty tang of sweat in the air, she seemed entirely focused on her book. The soft rustle of pages was the only sound in the common room, save for the occasional crackle of the fire. For a brief moment, you thought she might leave you alone to stew in your embarrassment.

But, of course, this was Hermione.

Without even looking away from her book, she shifted one of her feet closer to you, her toes brushing lightly against your cheek. You flinched at the unexpected contact, but before you could pull away, her other foot joined in, gently cupping your face between her arches.

"Hermione," you muttered, your voice strained. "What are you doing?"

She didn’t reply immediately, her attention still fixed on the text in front of her. When she finally spoke, her tone was calm, almost distracted. "Just helping you acclimate, Harry. No need to be so tense."

"Acclimate?" you repeated, incredulous. "By... playing with my face?"

She glanced down at you briefly, her expression unreadable. "Not playing," she corrected. "It’s all part of the conditioning. If you’re going to adapt to close quarters and personal contact, you need to get comfortable with things like this."

Her feet pressed a little more firmly against your cheeks, her toes curling slightly against your jawline. You could feel the damp warmth of her skin, a reminder of the long, sweaty day you’d endured together.

"I don’t think this is necessary," you said through gritted teeth, trying not to squirm under her touch.

"Of course it’s necessary," Hermione replied, her tone as firm as ever. "You’ve been so uncomfortable all day, Harry. This will help you relax. And besides," she added with a small smirk, "you’ve got a very expressive face. It’s kind of fun to see how you react."

You opened your mouth to protest, but she cut you off by pressing her toes lightly against your lips. "Shh," she murmured, her eyes flicking back to her book. "You’re distracting me."

The sheer absurdity of the situation left you speechless. Hermione, your best friend, was treating your face like some sort of stress toy while calmly reading her book, as though this were the most normal thing in the world.

"See?" she said after a moment, her voice tinged with amusement. "You’re already getting used to it. You’re not squirming as much anymore."

That was only because you’d resigned yourself to your fate, knowing that any attempt to resist would only make things worse. Hermione was nothing if not persistent, and once she set her mind to something, there was no stopping her.

"Just focus on relaxing, Harry," she said, her voice softening slightly. "This is all for your own good. You’ll thank me later."

You doubted that very much, but at this point, you didn’t have the energy to argue. Instead, you closed your eyes and tried to block out the sensation of her feet pressing and prodding against your face, silently hoping that this “conditioning” phase would be over sooner rather than later.
