It was probably just her imagination playing tricks with her head. There was no way her son would still be the same size as when she last saw him from how fast he was shrinking previously. Knowing that she needed to move on and checking would just be giving in to false hope she ignores it and tries to get to sleep.
Meanwhile in her cleavage you were still around an inch tall. The shrinking seemed to work completely randomly so there's no way to tell just how much time you have left exactly. From how your surroundings took a massive shift in orientation you guessed that your mom was lying down.
