A fresh start, that’s what they wanted…at least, that’s what they thought. Yes, for as romantic and symbolic as it had been for Scott and Ramona to step through that Subspace Door, ready to go wherever their love took them, the two soul mates soon realized though that something was missing. One starry night, the two held each other’s hands and gazed into their eyes, the door nearby, and they both smiled, agreed that they needed to open it again.
So much had happened for them in what seemed like such a short amount of time, but one thing was certain, they were very homesick. Scott had lived in Toronto for years, and he had so many friends there, all who had shared some of this journey with him. He really saw no reason for them to leave, and neither did Ramona. She wasn’t like Scott, never having called one place home for very long, but that part of her life was over, and for the first time in a long time, she felt like she was finally getting roots somewhere. The time she had spent away from Scott made her feel just awful, and thinking about Kim and Knives and the others really made it worse. The door shut behind them, and the couple smiled as they held hands, gazing upon this city where they would continue to thrive in their love.
Everyone was seriously happy to see them come back, Kim socking Scott in the shoulder for threatening to break up the band, and then smiling as she actually admitted that coming back had to mean that he had a brain up there. Of course, she then offered the explanation that this was all Ramona’s idea and Scott had no say in the matter. Young Mr. Pilgrim just gaped at that, while Ramona looked rather smug. Scott however said that he wanted to come back since he didn’t want to leave with the band being so crappy, they might as well call themselves “Mystik Spiral.” That got him a punch in the other shoulder.
As hoped, things got even better for Scott immediately after that. Since he had to get his job as a chef back, he had to try out for the position again, but apparently his short time away had let him hone his superb cooking skills, and Ramona could vouch for that. In the blink of an eye, Stephen Still became the chef working under Scott, a phrasing that upon first being uttered, made Scott receive a dirty look from Joseph. It may all sound a little too perfect, but actions speak louder than words, and Scott’s actions were now churning out some very fine dining.
“MMMMMMM!” just ask Ramona. As part of a romantic evening at home, Scott had whipped up Marinated London Broil Steak, Mashed Potatoes, and even found some nicely priced wine to wash it down with. He had really gone all out, and every bite she took just made her taste buds weep with joy. From the moment this food was placed on her plate, just the aroma itself made her even hungrier than before, and the continued smile on her face spoke of Ramona confirming the age old saying; the way to a girl’s heart is through her stomach.
Scott was enjoying his handiwork to, but not nearly as much as he was from just looking at Ramona. Just knowing that he had made her smile made him feel like such a man, even more than taking down each of her evil exes, plus doing this was a lot more fun. Something about cooking just really clicked with him, and he couldn’t wait to show Ramona what he had prepared for dessert.
When he wasn’t focusing on her smile, Scott also got to enjoy the rest of the lovely Ms. Flowers, like what she had on. It wasn’t her fanciest look, going with what was originally going to be just an evening at home, but Scott could vouch that Ramona looked hot in anything. Tonight’s ensemble was a blue sweatshirt with white stripes along the arms. The color really went well with her hair, now back in the same blue-green color and length it had been in when Roxie came to town, with her goggles resting in those soft locks. She wore a pair of matching sweatpants that had a very interesting design to them where the top made it look like a pair of pink bloomer shorts were sewn into the thing. Ironically she actually had a very similar pair of such shorts.
Ramona cut another big slab of meat off and fit it right in her mouth, her cheeks bulging as she munched it down. A rather impressive bulge made it's way down her throat while she moved onto the next bite eagerly. If there was ever a girl who had love in her tummy, it was Ramona Flowers.
“Scott,” Ramona spoke up, opting to swallow first before she continued, “this is incredible!” Grinning big, Scott tried to play up some faux modesty, and normally Ramona would smirk and then deflate his big head, but this meal had put her in quite the good mood. “In fact,” she said, pushing the candle out of the way so she could lean in closer to his face, the look in her eyes telling him that something amazing was about to happen, and that was when the sexiest thing on skates uttered the greatest words you could imagine “Why don’t you bust out the PS3?”
Watching TV during dinner time was a problem for women who believed that such a time should be fully spent on catching up on each other’s days. Ramona was not one of those women. She knew that it was fun to watch stuff while you chowed down, plus it’s not like she couldn’t watch and talk at the same time. When it came to games though, normally she tried to downplay Scott’s desire to play during meals since he’d usually get a lot more caught up in them than he would with the boob tube, though if you asked Knives Chau, she would vouch that she and Scott had some excellent talks at the arcade, like the amazing tale of how Pac Man got his name. Still, after what Scott had prepared, she decided she was in a gaming mood.
“The castle doors have been breached!” the narrator spoke as Ramona’s horde of red invaders came charging into Scott’s castle. The longtime gamer did his best to have his men spill the enemy’s blood, but even as they fought valiantly, he continued to see more and more of them go down. “AH! No way!” Scott watched as Ramona’s forces suddenly made his princess vanish from the castle. She was no pushover when she picked up a controller, but how was he losing THIS badly?! Turning his shocked face over to her, his jaw fell even further as it became clear that her time with him had taught her too well, as she was manipulating the controller in one hand, while the other grabbed another scoop of potatoes. In the case of “Fat Princess”, Scott suddenly didn’t feel so confident anymore.
While he sulked and went unnoticed, Ramona grinned once she had her guys secure the princess. From there, they started stuffing big slices of cake right into her hungry maw. Ramona grinned as she watched the blue one bloat up more and more until she was the size of a van, while meanwhile her boyfriend was madly hitting every button he could while frantically jerking the controller about, like that would somehow help him. By the time he managed to get some guys into her castle, not only did he realize that he didn’t have enough ones that weren’t fighting to heave the heavy princess out, but then the level over screen appeared, saying the Red Team had won. Once more comically and slowly looking over to her, Scott saw Ramona smirking as she took a sip of her whine “Game over.”
While he exasperatedly fell back and groaned in defeat, Ramona just sat her glass down and commented on the game “You know, it’s funny; the whole world has this negative outlook on fatness, but in this game, it can be the best thing in the world.” That one remark got Scott to instantly sit back up, as he suddenly had this to add “Power Ups have always been funny like that. In Mega Man, the Metal Blade from Metal Man is super powerful, but then you could also get that Charge Kick from Charge Man that never works. Shoot ‘em ups always have ones that power up your plane’s guns, but then if you get one too many, you’re suddenly back to the first gun you started with. And then there’s the Poison Mushroom in the real Super Mario Bros. 2, and that’s not-“
“Scott, I get it.” That was one of the things about dating a guy like Scott; one thing you say could make him go on and on about something he loved. Still, compared to the faults of Ramona’s previous romantic partners, this was nothing, and she gave him a little smile and said “You know, I have to admit, you are kind of cute when you go all gamer nerd like that.”
