Attack of the 50ft Veronica! The epic horror classic, remade into a new monstrous masterpiece! Riverdale survived this kong sized beauty's rampage in the timeless classic, but will Archie and the gang have the same luck in this retelling?! Find out now, if you dare!
“Bigger is better.” That’s what Riverdale high’s resident genius, Dilton, stated when he first tested out his growth ray on fruits and vegetables. Unfortunately, any chance of ending world hunger was lost when it appeared that his invention had no effect or at least, that’s what he thought. It turns out the device actually only made living creatures grow to greater sizes, something that the richest girl in town, Veronica Lodge, learned the hard way. Bored out of her mind while Archie talked to Dilton about a giant bug sighting he thought must be connected to Dilton’s invention, Veronica wound up fumbling with the device a bit and ended up getting zapped by the ray herself. She didn’t think much of it, since she looked and felt perfectly fine afterwards, and she absolutely did not want to get into all that science mumbo jumbo just to find out more about what hit her. So, once she got Archie back all to herself, it was time to prepare for her date with him that night. However, once again in the town of Riverdale, things started to take a strange turn.
“What cleaner did Smithers send my clothes to? They’ve all shrunk!” for once in her life, Veronica was stuck with a very limited choice of wardrobe, as the tears in the dress she wore alone proved. As if this and that woman from the Fresco Fashion complaint department suggesting she’d put on weight wasn’t bad enough, that was when she heard a car honk outside “Gasp! It’s Archie! What am I going to wear?”
The answer came in the form of her dad’s jogging suit, which Veronica claimed she chose because she wanted to be comfortable. This was odd enough for her, but when Archie saw her head pushing up into his car’s roof, he knew that something was wrong. Still, when Veronica told him to just drive, he didn’t argue.
At the movies, Archie suddenly saw the irony in seeing something with a giant monster in it, as Veronica wound up blocking the view of the person behind her without even knowing it. “What’s with you?” Veronica asked as Archie suddenly looked weird to her. Of course, when Veronica could obscure someone’s vision just by sitting down, it’s no wonder why Archie was uncomfortable. Still, they got through the movie without any other incident, in the theater that is. Their next bit of trouble came in the parking lot.
“What a dumb movie. Giant monsters? Ha!” Veronica said, before stepping into Archie’s car, where she promptly found herself feeling even more confined than before. She didn’t know what happened to Archie’s car, but she thought that maybe talking to her daddy into getting him a less weird set of wheels would be the way to go. Archie then asked her “Are you sure you’re alright?” To which she answered “I’m fine, why?” Now Archie could have pointed out that normally, Veronica didn’t have to curl her legs up in order to fit into his car, but he had been walking a fine line with her all night thanks to whatever was happening, and he didn’t want to upset her.
“Uh, you just seem, well uh…less petite than before.” Of course, saying something like THAT could have landed him in hot water, but fortunately, Veronica had gone into such denial about her size by this point, that all she did was just give him a look and say “No, it’s the same old me, see?” Thinking he had gotten off easy, Archie suddenly learned that his luck was still in terrible form as the car’s tires suddenly all blew. “Oops!” sadly, Veronica did not then accept that something was wrong with her. The only problem she admitted was that the collapse of the tires made her head tear right through the convertible roof.
“Oh no, I’ll have to call a tow truck. I hope someone is still open.” Stepping out of the strange vehicle, and making the whole thing shake back and forth before her attempts paid off, while also decimating more of the roof in the process, Veronica watched as Archie dialed for help on her phone. “Ooooh! This is the perfect end to this night.” She whined, stomping her Amazon sized foot on the ground. Even though she could easily get her chauffeur to pick them up, she still had wait here with Archie for his car to be picked up. This was just awful!
“Well, I suppose it could have been worse.” That brought Veronica’s attention back to Archie. He was referring to the extent of the damage, but still, his words did affect her. “Hmm, I suppose you’re right.” She said, soon smiling at the boy who stole her heart. Even with everything that had gone wrong tonight, Veronica had to admit that anything involving Archie was her idea of a good time.
