There are infinite dimensions with infinite possibilities. In the story you know, it was Peter Parker that went off to stop the mad titan Thanos from wiping out half of all sentient life of the universe with the infinity gauntlet. He died along with all of Earth's mightiest heroes but was soon revived with time itself was reversed by Nebula.... which proved to be her undoing.

I am The Watcher. My sacred duty is to observe everything that happens in any given dimension but never to interfere. During my duty I have witnessed the different choices people have made in other universes. This time, in this dimension, it was Gwen Stacy who was bitten by a radioactive spider.
It was Gwen Stacy who went off to stop Thanos with a myriad of heroes -- although it would be more accurate to say that Gwen and the heroes served as a distraction, much like in the story that you know. And, much like in the story you know, the heroes didn't last very long when facing Thanos.....

--------------------
Pain.
That was what Gwen Stacy felt when she regained consciousness. Her memory returned to her when she somehow managed to turn herself over, facing the infinity that was the universe. She had been part of a team facing down the mad titan Thanos who had gotten a hold of a gauntlet. Not just any gauntlet but the Infinity Gauntlet . Powered by the six infinity stones, the gauntlet made the wearer effectively a god. Thanos' plan was to kill half of all life in the universe just to impress Mistress Death....or something akin to that. Gwen didn't get all the details. And, right now, remembering stuff wasn't in the cards at the moment.
Gwen had great trouble in just breathing. The pain in her chest told her that at least a couple of her ribs were broken, if not all of them. Her last memory was being punched hard by the female clone of Thanos a number of times. Gwen had scored with a few solid hits before she was knocked unconscious and, presumably, left for dead.
Gwen caught snatches of a conversation somewhere to her left.

"I....ridden....of all vulnerability! I'm the ..... universe! My old body.....is just a husk....."

Gwen was only feet away from a throne where the body of Thanos was seated. Gwen really couldn't see all that well because one of her eyes was swollen shut and the other had a film of blood over it. It was very clear to Gwen that she was on the brink of death. Still she was cringing on to life somehow. If someone didn't come to save her she would doubtless die millions of light years away from home. That's when Gwen noticed a glimpse of the infinity gauntlet. If the body of Thanos was just a husk.....
Gwen rolled over onto her stomach and struggled to her feet. It took the badly injured Gwen a whole minute just to stand up. She made a small step forward which caused great pain in her legs. How was she still alive at this point?
Just...
...... needed....
to
....focus.
.... on.....
....walking......
The female clone of Thanos was standing a little ways from the throne. By the time Gwen had reached the throne she suddenly felt numbness spreading from her middle. That numbness terrified Gwen more than anything else because it meant only one thing; she was seconds away from death.
Gwen took hold of the gauntlet and pulled it off of the limp body of Thanos. As luck would have it the female clone of Thanos turned in time to see Gwen pull off the gauntlet.
"NO!" exclaimed the female clone, lunging for Gwen. With the absolute last of her strength Gwen slipped the gauntlet on.

From the very moment that Gwen had slipped the gauntlet on her arm she felt a jolt of energy flowing into her body. With the energy came knowledge. It was a total sensory overload. Gwen's first instinct was to take off the gauntlet fearing that she just might explode with the sheer amount of knowledge that flowed into her. Total confusion reigned for what felt like hours. It might've been hours. Or days. Or even years. Gwen's sense of time was out the window. Gwen's body was now totally restored to normal.
By the time that everything went back into focus for Gwen, the female clone of Thanos was hardly any closer then she was earlier. Did time itself freeze when Gwen placed the gauntlet on her arm? Did she make time freeze long enough for her to get attuned to.the gauntlet? Gwen didn't remember making the conscious decision on freezing time at all. Perhaps she did it subconsciously?
The female clone of Thanos right at Gwen when Gwen did something that broke the laws of physics. Gwen ate the clone in an instant. Her mouth didn't get any bigger nor did the clone shrank. Gwen simply ate the clone completely whole. Gwen didn't knew exactly why she did it either.
"Guess what?" asked Gwen turning to face Thanos' body on the throne. With all the power of the gauntlet Gwen returned the mad titan back into his body. Thanos didn't have time to react when Gwen ate him in one bite. "it's now my turn to be god"
Gwen turned to look at all the dead bodies around the throne. It took Gwen a moment to figure out on what to do to make things right. With a snap of her finger and thumb, Gwen reversed time back to twenty-four hours with her godly powers that the gauntlet granted her.

Gwen found herself back on the rooftop of the apartment building she had been on when her spider-sense had gone off and she had witnessed half of the population of New York vanish originally. Now all of those deaths were reversed and not just on Earth.
Gwen held up her left hand to look at the infinity gauntlet. A sort of dreamy expression came upon her face. Gwen remained that way for almost three minutes when she gave out a loud belch and the dreamy expression on her face slowly fell. Shortly after that came the ramifications of having the infinity gauntlet. This realization caused Gwen to stumble backward two or three steps.
"Okay, okay, Gwen......just think straight about this" Gwen said aloud to herself. She considered and decided that this wasn't the place to be at the moment. Not with her new accessory. Using the power of the gauntlet Gwen returned to her apartment in the very next instant.

Finding herself back at her apartment, Gwen pulled off the infinity gauntlet and set it down on a table that served as the dinning table. The apartment consisted of one big room and two smaller rooms; the restroom and a bedroom. The apartment was far from luxurious but it suited Gwen just fine. She had moved into the apartment when she had turned twenty-one about a year ago.
Gwen paced in front of the table that had the gauntlet on it.
"Okay, now that I have this gauntlet what should I do with it?" asked Gwen aloud. "do I simply use it and be, you know, god....or should I reserve it only for the most dire circumstances? If I do use it will having all that power corrupt me somewhere down the road? Will I even be allowed to keep the gauntlet? I'm sure that at least one cosmic entity knows that I have this gauntlet. What if one of them swoops in and takes it and -- hmmmm....no, no. You're overthinking this"
Gwen continued to pace back and forth when she suddenly felt a tightness in her chest. She ignored the strange tightness until she spotted something startling.
"Ah, what the?!" cried Gwen in shock as she saw that her breasts were definitely bigger. Gwen gazed down as her breasts continued to grow and grow. Her superhero outfit soon started to strain to contain Gwen's growing bust. What was causing her chest to grow?! She wasn't even wearing the infinity gauntlet so that couldn't be the cause..... for.....
"Are.....my breasts growing because I ate Thanos and that clone of his?!" blurted out Gwen. It was a ridiculous idea but that was the only thing that made any sense.
"Well, whatever..." sighed Gwen. "Having bigger breasts are the least of my problems"
Gwen paced the floor five or six times before shaking her head.

"Ah, screw it" said Gwen. "if anybody deserves to have this gauntlet, it's me. If it wasn't for me half of the universe would be dead and....well, who knows what Thanos would have done with the gauntlet in the long-term?
With this gauntlet I can do anything I want! Maybe I'll get Jameson to actually like me --" here, she chuckled at that idea.
