The small crowd in the courtroom could only stare on in shock at the green amazon lay down near the prosecutor's chair, smiling contentedly at the meal in her stomach. The only problem with that was that no one wanted to approach her, the fear that she would lash out at any passerby like a tiger looking for another bite freezing the room in terror.

Finally, one man, the courtroom baliff, approached the laying amazon.

"Jennifer? It's me, Terry. You remember me, right? We all went bowling a few weeks ago, you, me, the other bailiffs, you bowled a 170 that night."

The green amazon looked on at the small man, a slight grin forming. However, she added "I would have won if it wasn't for that one guy."

"Oh come on!" Terry shouted, hanging his head with embarrassment. "If I had known Steve was on the PBA tour, we would have probably figured out why it was HIS idea to go bowling!"

His face turning slightly more serious, Terry walked towards She-Hulk while the rest of the courtroom stayed hidden, looking on. If someone was going to take the bullet and be eaten alive, it might as well have been the baliff.

"Look, Beck was a criminal, we know. And he probably did poison you. But everyone else here is innocent. Witnesses, citizens, state employees, you're not going to eat us, right?"

The amazon stared on at the shivering bailiff for a few moments, before lightly patting his head. "No, I'm full."

With those three words, the courtroom emerged from its lockdown as people stood up, the judge revealing himself as he looked down at the amazon.

"In light of this recent turn of events, I'm closing the case of New York vs. Quentin Beck and opening an investigation as to exactly what happened here. Miss Walters?"

"Yes, your honor?" She-Hulk asked with a slight smirk as she looked on at the bulge in her chest. Technically, this wasn't her fault, so there was no way the court could charge her.

"You are to return here in two days for questioning. Whatever happened...we must know about it. Court is adjourned!"

A few hours later, at the law offices of Goodman, Lieber, Kurtzberg & Holliway, the now human Jennifer Walters was in an isolated office, viewing a large amount of legal records. The bulge in her belly which was once Quentin Beck was gone (presumably digested) when she transformed back to her human form, all the better, since it was the strict policy of senior partner Holden Holliway that she was not to be in the office in her She-Hulk form, due to his image concerns.

"Jennifer, what are you doing here so late?" a man asked. Looking up, she recognized him as one of the other lawyers at the practice, Stu Cicero. Stu was always a bit of a late worker, but Jennifer wasn't, hence the surprise.

"Something about this whole thing stinks, and it wasn't just Quentin's breath."

"The judge told you to go home and rest, didn't he?" Jennifer just chuckled.

"Since when do superheroes rest? Besides, I found out something."

"You're not cut out for being a workaholic?"

"That I knew," she began. "Quentin Beck was a patsy. There's nothing to suggest in his profile that someone with his delusions of grandeur could set up such an elaborate plot. He was renting the space out to someone and used the opportunity to make a scene.

"Who?"

"Not sure yet. It could be any number of people. Maggia, the Kingpin, a few West Coast syndicates."

"Yeah, but what about the drugs you took?"

"What about them?" Jennifer asked, having all but forgotten why she had eaten Beck in the first place.

"I mean, can't that stuff still affect you?"

"I'm not sure to be honest," Jennifer confessed. "I'm a lawyer, not a scientist. You want a scientist, go uptown."
