Another day. . . Short Stuff chapter 8 by copier · original author: danite7

That night, he was in the land of space again. Only this time, the entire place felt distant and far away. He could tell this wasn't the same as before, it was only a dream. Bobby walked around, looking for something. Other than him and his mother. . .he felt like there was something else here too. He wasn't quite sure. . . what it was though. He had to find it though.

His mother was still there, still naked, and still millions of feet tall. But, this wasn't her. It was not the same as before. As he looked at her, she turned and faced him, a smile on her face.

BOOM!

BOOM!

Walking over, she put her legs on both sides of the child and looked down at him.

"WHAT'S WRONG, BOBBY!?!"

Bobby thought about answering to his mother. He wanted to tell her that he would be okay, and things would go back to normal. It just couldn't . . .no. He wouldn't give up. . he had to reach her. Opening his mouth, he shouted out to his mother!!

"M-mom!! Mommy!! I-I. . . I-I'm okay!!"

His voice. . .it grew!! It went right up and right to her!!

His mother smiled, happy that he had spoken. Bringing her finger to her mouth, Rose lightly wet the top of her finger. After doing this, she began to lower it towards her tiny son!! The massive thousands of feet wide finger slowly made its way towards Bobby. . .getting ready to lift him high into the air, towards him. It was strange though, because at his size, Bobby was subatomic!! How was it that she could hear him at that size?

Bobby woke up! His eyes stung and he was still very tired. He felt drained, from everything that had taken place. Yet, at the same time, he felt renewed. Not from fatigue, but an inner strength. Looking down, he was still on the end table, where he had rejected Aunt Vinka's protection spell. He wasn't sure if what he had done was the right thing, but at this point, he had to live with his decision.

Looking around, he didn't see Aunt Vinka anywhere. She must have already gotten up and been moving around.

"Bobby!! Where are you!?"

A voice. . . it was his mother. Though. . .the voice. It was coming from his own mind!! He had an idea that he didn't think of yesterday.

Bobby opened his mouth. . . this was madness!! Stopping for a second, but then opening it again. . .

"Mom. .. I'm on Aunt Vinka's end table."

Silence. He really hadn't expected an. . .

Slam!!

The door burst open. His mother stormed inside and walked right towards the end table!! He couldn't believe it. . had she. . .had she heard him?

"There you are, son!! C'mon!! We are going to be leaving soon!!"

She was still okay. . . at least, Bobby hoped she was. Vinka didn't clearly distinguish when exactly the three hours would start. It was a mystery to both of them.

Rose, wearing a purple blouse and a pair of dark blue jeans, looked very confident and calm. She was mentally preparing herself for the journey they would be taking together. Her hair was combed nicely and ready to go. One could barely even tell that she had slept on the floor.

Aunt Vinka, wearing the same clothes from yesterday, entered the room. Her face was neutral, if anything she had a small amount of contempt. Bobby began to think that his decision to not initiate the protection spell may have been a good choice. As Rose and Bobby left, Vinka watched, a smile creeping on her face.

"Bobby!! Don't worry. . . you will be back here, soon!!"

. . . . . .

Before long, Bobby and Rose were back in the car. They were heading home, it would be a couple hours until they got back. On their way back, Rose let Bobby sit in her cupholder. From there, he watched her as she drove. She looked determined, but tired too. She had been drained as well from all of the activities that took place. Still, it wasn't over yet, moreso. . .it had just begun.

In a few short hours, the first spirit would attach itself onto Rose, slowly integrating itself into her personality. What would result from that, was unknown.
