After a minute had passed, you are starting to feel dumb, now doubting your own ability. You certainly aren't going to go your way to becoming more of a creep by trying to get a better touch on her.
You hum as you think. 'Women around me never really needed that much touching from what I can remember. Just what could it be...?'
Your thoughts are shaken as when one moment you were thinking, when you came back to your senses, you see the woman next to you, staring intently. You are a little spooked and flinch a little before you clear your throat and try to act casual.
You look at her smiling, careful not to stare at those looming peaks that shadow over you. "Um, yes miss?"
The woman blinks behind her sunglasses, a little confused as she looks at you. "I'm sorry for bothering you, but...I just can't help shake this feeling. Do I...know you from somwhere?"
The fact that this woman is already talking to you makes you feel a little relieved that you weren't going crazy about your apparent ability. Still, it's too early to say whether this woman is affected since it could still be purely coincidence.
"Um...I don't believe so?" you ask.
The woman hums. "What's your name? I just...maybe it'll ring some bells for me."
Normally at this point, it would be easy for someone to dismiss themselves and apologize, but this woman is still persisting like she's certain that you are someone important.
"James...and you are?"
The woman blinks, still wondering why she feels like she knows you, but seeing how she asked for your name, she smiles and gives hers. "Melanie. Hey, this may be strange coming from me but...would you like to join me outside for a chat? I can't shake this feeling and it's going to drive me crazy."
'Melanie, huh?' you think, imprinting the name in your head so you don't forget. By this point, you feel like her approach is thanks to your ability. Could she really be thinking of you as someone she knew before or is this just an act to start getting to know you? Either way, you weren't going to pass up this opportunity.
"Sure!"

With both of your coffee drinks in your hand, you and Melanie sit down at an outside table with a nice, cool breeze flowing between you and her. She slides her hair around her ears and then takes off her sunglasses, folding them into her purse. Now that you can fully see her face, you are stunned to see how beautiful and even cute she seems. It could be thanks to her makeup, but still, it's not so much that you can't see that she has a natural complexion that could glow.
'Wow' you think, wondering if you have truly hit the jackpot here. Still, it may be too early to celebrate.
"So, what do you want to talk about?"
Melissa fidgets and sighs. "I'm not sure what's going on with me now, but when I look at you, I seem to be reminded by someone. You see, I have a baby boy who's turning a year old now. Call me crazy, but you remind me of him, like an older version, I guess."
So she is a mother, huh? You try to play along and chuckle.
"I'll take that as a compliment, I guess. So I take it you're married and he's your first-born?"
Melissa smiles warmly as she thinks. "Yes, his name is Eric and he is my first-born. I'm not married anymore though. I've divorced my ex-husband six months ago since we decided it wasn't going to work out. Still, I'm quite happy to be raising such a healthy boy."
Perhaps this is the right lead-in?
"I bet he's lucky to have a sweet mother," you complement.
Melissa chuckles and then her smile grows solemn. "Yes, but...maybe you'd be okay with listening to a request of mines."
Moving forward this fast? You figure that Melissa is having a hard time controlling herself. You are starting to be worried, not only for Melissa but for yourself. Still, you try to act as calm as possible.
"Yes?"
What is her request?
You hum as you think. 'Women around me never really needed that much touching from what I can remember. Just what could it be...?'
