"I think it might be unethical for you to just keep him" says Rebecca.
You smile after hearing that, you may have advocate after all.
"Of course it's ethical." laughs Pam.
"No it isn't." insists Rebecca. "He may be small but he's still a person, who I'm sure had his own life and ambitions before you decided to nab him."
"Hey, he's lucky that I found him." says Pam, holding her ground. "He could have been taken by someone who would want to use him as a sex toy or something. Instead, he will have a nice new life as my pet. The best thing is, he'll last a lifetime unlike other tiny animals."
"But you can't keep him as a pet Pam!" says Rebecca, starting to get annoyed with her friend. "We have to help him!"
"Ok, look at is this way" says Pam. "I don't have any idea how he got this small. Do you?"
"No" admits Rebecca.
"Do you really think a doctor has seen anything like this before and do you think they would actually know how to help him? And do you think the person who knows how he shrunk has good intentions?" argues Pam
"No.."
"Exactly. So since there's no way to help him it makes sense that he should be my pet. He'll be safe and sound and I love tiny things so it's a win/win." she concludes.
You admit to yourself that Pam makes a forceful argument. Still, you'd rather take your chances getting help than face the humiliation of being some stranger's pet for the rest of your life.
How does Rebecca respond?
