“How are you doing?”
“Terrible!”
“It’s OK,” she says in a soft, compassionate voice, “tell me what’s wrong—and take your time.”
You give a tale of woe. The longer you talk, the closer you get to her hand.
“Are you scared? Do you want me to hold you safe and secure in the palm of my hand?”
“Yes, ma’am!” you say as you climb into the palm of her hand.
Then without warning, her hand rises up and her fingers roughly thrust you into her breast pocket, which she seals.
“That’s the trick with little creatures I learned as a young girl with mice and hamsters as pets. You gotta coax them to you and then keep them nested in a small, secure space fit for their little bodies. But I promise you ladies that I’ll ask around the alphabet soup agencies to see what’s up.”

Finally, she stops by to talk.
“I’m sorry for humiliating you.”
“Humiliating?!? Doesn’t even begin to describe my treatment.”
“I understand. Fortunately, I was able to use this time to find someone more able to help.
