A relief and a new owner Shrunk in an airport chapter 23 by Louka31

"I'm ready to go" announces Anne.

You give a huge sigh of relief, you thought for sure that Anne saw you. Soon you feel Wendy set down her purse in the car on her lap. You stumble through beauty products and Wendy's phone before you find a nice corner to ride out the next half hour. You hear the car engine start and they drive away from the airport. During the ride you can hear Lydia and Wendy talking to each other about many things ranging from beauty products to work and how Lydia wasn't looking forward to go to work after vacation. After about 30 minutes of drive, you feel the car pull up into a driveway and come to a stop.

"Anne, why don't you take your things into the house. The grown-ups need to talk" you hear Lydia say.

You hear Anne get out of the car and close the door.

"Ok Wendy, why don't we take the little guy out and have a talk with him" you hear Lydia say.

Right away, you see Wendy unzip her purse. She feels around for you and scoops you up in her hand and places you in her open palm. Wendy holds you up to her face which has a beaming smile. You turn around and see Lydia also smiling at you. Suddenly, you feel a finger gently stroke your back. You see that the finger belongs to Wendy who looks like she's really enjoying petting you.

"So how did you find this little treasure?" asks Wendy.

"Anne was the one who found him actually" admits Lydia. "But I made her give him to me since she would've been too rough with him. I thought I'd give him to you since you could use the company and I'm not really in a position to take care of him"

"So, he's my tiny little man?" she asks, with her face lighting up

"Yep, he's all yours" smiles Lydia

Then Lydia turns her attention to you.

"This is Wendy, little guy" says Lydia. "She's going to be your owner now."

"I'm going to take good care of you" says Wendy lovingly, still petting you.

This was all happening too fast for you and all you could to was stare awkwardly at Wendy as she fawned over you.

"Well, I have to get going. You're going to have to let me stop by so I can visit him from time to time. Thanks again for driving us home." says Lydia.

"Of course!" replies Wendy "See you later!"

Wendy focuses her attention back to you.

"Well, let's get you to your new home" she says excitedly.

Wendy deposits you in a cup holder before pulling out of the driveway to begin the drive back to her house.

"Here, you can ride in here so we can get to know each other better." says Wendy, smiling down at you.

"Please miss you need to help me! I have no idea how I got this small! I was going home for the holidays and I woke up 6 cm tall. I'm in college and I need to get back before the next term starts. Can you please help me?!" You beg.
