“Keep him? Are you sure that’s a good idea?” asks Rachel.

“Yeah, do you really have the right to do that? He may be little but he’s still a human being.” adds Sarah.

For a moment you feel hope. The two girls are actually taking your side. Maybe with their help you can convince Jade that you’re not something to just be captured and kept as a pet. Your thoughts are interrupted as Jade suddenly brings you up to her face and aggressively snuggles you against her soft cheek.

“Of course I have the right!” Says Jade indignantly. “I am well aware that he’s a human being, but he’s a tiny human and he needs big people to look after him. When I found him he nearly got himself killed with all the people only centimeters away from squishing him.”

The two girls look at each other, clearly acknowledging that their friend has a valid point.

“Well, we should at least take him to a doctor once we get to Miami” says Sarah.

“And have the doctors take him and mostly likely dissect him or do experiments on him? Certainly not! He’s much better coming back to England and being my pet!” says Jade in an almost possessive tone.

It was quite humiliating that the three of them were discussing you and not even involving you in the conversation. Even if Sarah and Rachel were technically on their side. Still, you have to admit that Jade does make a good argument. It didn’t even cross your mind that you’d be dissected or experimented on. You try to tell yourself that Jade is only saying that because she wants you for herself but in the back of your mind you can’t stop thinking about what she said. Do Sarah and Rachel have another argument for Jade?
