You leapt up from your slumber with the feet of Amber hitting the floor nearby; nearly silent normally, to you they shook the ground and woke you with a start. You watched her move around, exit the room and come back in. "See you tonight, Joshie," you heard her say a few minutes later.
"Love you," came Josh's soft voice above.
And with that she was gone. A few seconds later, the front door opened and closed. Josh breathed deeply, and you heard him give a satisfied groan; the bed moved unusually above you as he stretched.
"Alright, little girl. Hope you didn't run off in the night..." came the voice of god. Before you could move or reply, Josh had lunged, reaching down under the bed and pulling the entire hoodie out. You, sleeping in the front pocket, were dragged hopelessly along with it before Josh hoisted it into the air. You felt a little dizzy and sick, but had no time to recover as the hoodie was shaken about, as if trying to dislodge you. "Where are you" said Josh, a note of worry in his voice.
As he straightened out the garment, he must have seen the lump you formed in the front pocket as he reached in, grabbed you and pulled you out, discarding the hoodie on the floor. The bright morning light was shocking to you at first and you tried to reach up a hand to cover your eyes, but Josh's fist was clamped tightly around both arms. You instead squinted, waiting to recover, still feeling dizzy. "Morning," you called out to him.
"Morning" Josh boomed. "Thought you'd done a runner."
You smiled. "Thanks for not putting me in a cage." Your vision returned and you looked upon the shirtless Josh, sat up in bed, staring down at you held tightly in his hand. It was an unreal, breathtaking sight; he dominated your entire vision, his grin wider than you were tall. "Wow," you said.
Josh's laughter vibrated through you and all around. "Thanks," he said. Putting his knees up, he set you down on the right side of his stomach, near his hip, and gently pushed you back so you leaned against the leg that reached high up into the air. He regarded you for a moment with a wicked twinkle in his eye.
