He got into his car on the way home. The magical size bracelet chapter 9 by SatireMarker

The next few hours were a blur - you heard Josh chatting to the his teammates, not able to make out all the words but it sounded like he was enthusiastic to get with the team. As he was focused on the game played, you felt Josh's hand occasionally stroking you, as if checking you were there. You curled up into a ball, wanting to show your terror.

The match between Hawaii Rainbow Warriors and Long Beach State University Volleyball Team ended up in a draw. As Josh, congratulated the fellow players and opponents, he did not have time to go to the changing room, as he headed to his car. Josh left to head to his car. You didn't imagine it was a long drive home for him - though he was a Chicagoan, he was staying in California for the team, and he is driving home to Las Vegas to visit a friend.

Soon you were there and your eyes got a shock as Josh sat down, constricting the space once again, before undoing the zip and gently pulling you out. He sat there, his long light fingers curled carefully around your body; he rested his thumb on the index finger behind you, using just the other four digits to hold you in place, the index finger locking in just below your neck, middle finger around your stomach, ring finger - thankfully with no ring - on your upper legs/crotch, and little finger covering your knees down to the bottom of your feet. You were well and truly ensconced. It was remarkably warm and comforting as Josh gazed...

"So... who are you and how did you end up in the bag of my coach?"

You decided now was the right time to talk.

"My-my name's Anna," you said, exaggerating a stammer as you made up a name. "I-I didn't know your team was playing today...I was looking for su-supplies when everyone came in and I tried to hide in there."

Josh's eyes seemed to get wider with every word you spoke, but his expression was unreadable. Not because he was blank, but because he seemed to be displaying several emotions at once - he looked shocked, awed, impressed, excited, maybe...concerned? Sympathetic? You weren't sure, even with his face magnified to such incredible detail. You could see every tiny line, every imperfection on the handsome, young athlete's face.

"How are you real?" Josh asked. Maybe he hadn't expected a response when he asked the first question. Regardless, you weren't sure how to respond, so you just shrugged as best you could in his firm grip. Josh seemed to realise it was an impossible question to ask so he changed tack. "What are you?"

That was one you were ready for. "I'm a borrower," you said. "Like from the stories."

"Borrowers are real?!" Josh asked incredulously.

You nodded and Josh ran his free hand through - over, really - his hockey brunette hair.

"Wow...so you went to the stadium to 'borrow' some of our stuff, eh?"

You nodded in a way you hope looked shameful.

Josh regarded you thoughtfully, not sure what to do next. Then he spoke again.
