It was well known on the streets of Hong Kong that a bored Zang Xiu was a dangerous Zang Xiu indeed. The woman herself was a lethal combination of beauty and danger, with far too much raw power at her fingertips. No one knew the real source of her immense powers, but what they did know was that the patriarch of Zang family was bad news.
It was easier to just give the tall woman whatever she wanted when she came around or just avoid her entirely. However, every once in a while, the uninformed and uneducated didn't adhere to these simple tips for survival and just... disappeared. That was the best way to describe it. They just vanished and were never seen or heard from again.
Mr. Chao unfortunately fell under the uniformed. He was new to Hong Kong having lived most of his life in Beijing and didn't know the full scope of the danger he was in when a fine beauty in black with golden heels walked into his shop. He owned a humble little video store that was crammed into an alley and the red neon sign seemed to grab the woman's attention.
The poor store owner couldn't help but feel his heart beat faster and all the blood in his body rush down south. He'd never seen such refined beauty in all his life, and he briefly wondered if all the other women on Hong Kong were anything like were the goddess that walked through his door like she owned the place. God, he hoped so.
"Welcome to Chao video where my selection is endless. How can I help you today?" He smiled politely. He almost added pretty lady at the end but stopped himself from saying something so cringe to a potential customer. The woman herself gave him a warm smile that belied her cruel and random nature.
"I'm looking for some classic sci-fi. Can you show me where I can find it?" She spoke. Her voice was like honey and smooth like butter. Chao was already smitten but now even more so than he was before.
"Sure thing. Any titles in particular?" He asked wanting to leap from behind the counter to help the woman in need. Hopefully he had the titles she was looking for as he had a small wave of customers come through earlier in the morning when he first opened.
"American films. Attack of the 50ft Woman, The incredible Shrinking Man, those kinds of flicks." She answered. Her requests caused the man's face to noticeably drop. He didn't carry any foreign films. He only had what was native to Asia.
"I'm sorry but we don't carry films from overseas miss..."
"Zang. Zang Xiu." She finally introduced herself, although her smile had now vanished and was replaced with something more neutral that he couldn't decipher.
Xiao-Long Chao." He introduced himself next.
The woman walked closer to him, and he felt his little guy standing at full attention. He counted his lucky stars he behind a desk where the lower half of his body was hidden from view. "A pity. You said your selections were endless."
"Yeah." He rubbed the back of his head nervously, still not sensing the mounting danger. "That's just a slogan I'm trying out to draw in some business, you know."
Zang tilted her head. "Even still, it's false advertising and I don't like to be tricked."
"Again, my humble apologies." Chao bowed, hoping he hadn't just lost a customer. "Is there anything else I can do to make up for the holes in my video library."
Zang eyes almost appeared to glow, but Chao missed it with his bow. "There is actually." She pointed her index finger at him.
"What's that?" He asked hopefully.
"You'll see." With that said, withing microseconds, Chao seemed to vanish from sight right before the woman's eyes. With a smirk she grabbed the desk he was behind and lifted off the ground with one hand as if it were weightless and casually tossed it behind her. She could hear it splinter and shatter against whatever it hit but ignored it in favor of admiring her handiwork.
On the ground at her feet no bigger than a green army man was shocked and horrified Xiao-Long Chao. He had no idea what just happened, all he did know was that one minutes he was talking to the woman and the next he was staring at a black with that was actually his desk before this giant superwoman heaved behind her like trash.
She was huge, everything was! Who? What? When? Where? How? So many questions and not enough answers. He was freaking the hell out. When did everything get so big? or to be more accurate, when did he get so small? Did Zang do this? She had to, right? Just who in the world was this woman and how did she shrink him down to size? This should be impossible.
"Serves you right for false advertising." Her voice boomed from above. She began to tap her foot which made the ground tremor and Chao fell right on his but. Looking straight ahead he noticed her open-toed heels and got a good glimpse of her pale toes and perfectly manicured nails. If he wasn't so scared he might've let his gaze linger just a bit longer. "Now, what am I going to do with you I wonder?"
