Rei could appreciate just how lifelike the VR room could make its simulations. Without the proper knowledge anyone who stepped into the room would almost certainly not be able to tell the difference at all.
It was an impressive feat, truly.
But Rei didn't enter the VR room this day to gawk at how revolutionary it is. No, she was here to let off some steam as it were. She and her father had seen a video of Haruka online receiving the key to the city.
The sight made her blood boil.
How on earth did that girl get the key to the city? She barely did anything besides some acting jobs and some modeling. Sure, every blue moon she would aid the police or act, but those moments were few and far between.
Haruka really did piss her off.
That was why she was in the virtual reality room now. Doctor Wilde listened to her plight and setup a nice and empty simulation city for her that was filled to the brim with Haruka advertisements.
That girl's ego knew no bounds.
The way her near infinite potential was basically being wasted it what angered her the most. Haruka could do more, should be more, and instead did practically nothing with all that power at her fingertips.
Rei couldn't stand it any longer.
Just seeing her face on billboards, tv monitors, and on blimps was finally enough to send the giantess of the B.L.A.C.K facility over the edge. With the monstrous roar of a beast, she finally attacked.
The tv monitor was the first to go.
It shattered and fizzled out the moment Rei chucked a car straight through it. The spiderweb-like cracks spread out at a rapid pace and the face of the monster girl within fizzled out into static.
The billboards were next.
Rei slammed her fists into them, and the sheer force of her blows forced the virtual wood and metal to explode upon impact. Her kicks had the very same effect as well.
The blimps had her attention now.
Those things popped like balloons when Rei clapped them. To her it was no different than swatting down flies. The way they blew up did wonders for her ever-growing rage. She had so much anger inside and now she was letting it all out.
Busses with Haruka adds drove by.
How had she not seen those? Oh well. Rei raised her foot high and flattened them. The sound and feeling of metal being crushed into a pancake was oh so satisfying.
Now it was time for the coup de gras...
Rei's eyes sparkled as she felt the buzzing and tingling sensation of electricity dancing on her skin. All the lights in the virtual city began to flicker on and off.
She was going to end this all!
She shrieked a loud scream and released all the stored-up power she could muster. The end result wasn't what she expected. The entire VR simulation faded out, leaving Rei alone in a dark room with nothing.
What happened to her simulation?
"Doctor?" she called out, hoping to receive an answer. At first there wasn't one and then the lights began to flicker back on, illuminating the once dark space. "Doc?"
"Sorry." Doctor Wilde's voice finally came through the speak. "We temporarily lost all power in the facility.
"What? How?"
"Well..." the doctor hesitated. "It's because of you. Your power activated and functioned exactly like an electromagnetic pulse. Fascinating really."
Rei's eyes bulged. "Wow."
"Yes..." Doctor Wilde parroted. "Wow."
