Tanaka was no stranger to board meetings. He had been to his fair share of them since he first joined the military and even more so since signing on with Sakurai and the B.L.A.C.K facility. Meetings were just a normal part of the job.
However, this was the first time he found himself near speechless at one. He, Havoc, and Sakurai were all seated in the war room watching a giant monitor of Rei's little experiment with Leumya. Needless to say, he was shocked.
Rei had actually managed to hurt her fellow giantess with her lightning ability. The implications that revelation brought with it were astronomical. A kaiju could hurt another kaiju. No wonder his machines and techies couldn't get the job done.
The answer was hiding right in plain sight. He felt angry, embarrassed, and was overall just annoyed. How could he not see something that was so obvious? How did none of them see it? Only Kaiju have the strength necessary to harm each other.
He had to make sure to include this information in his own little personal project. He would have to make some serious edits, but they weren't enough to derail him. Maybe... maybe there was something to the human factor after all.
Havoc meanwhile looked beyond pleased at what he was seeing. This new information was just what they needed to turn the tide in their favor. Haruka was no longer the big fish in this vast ocean.
The footage eventually stopped and the screen displaying it went dark. Sakurai held the remote in his hand before rewinding Rei's find. What she had blessed him with was more valuable than any of the pirate treasure Haruka brought to the surface.
"As you can see gentleman, Rei has made a great discovery this day. Thanks to her we now know how to deal with Haruka when the time finally arrives."
"Yeah..." Havoc began. "Only Kaiju and harm other Kaiju. If the two of them meet in battle, then Rei will squash that brat like a bug."
"Indeed." Tanaka agreed as he thought over what this meant for, he and the B.L.A.C.K facility. "My machines were never going to defeat Haruka. Only a giant can fell a giant."
Sakurai nodded. "That's right. From here on out, Rei's training will be increased tenfold, and we will ensure that all of her basis are covered. You two will help as well. Leumya can't do it all on her own."
"What do you want us to do?" Havoc asked curiously.
Sakurai smirked. "You're a general, I'm sure you'll think of something. Same goes for you Tanaka. Get creative and push her. Am I understood."
"Crystal."
"Yes sir."
"Good." the head of the table smiled. "It time to get back to work."
