"Actually, there's a theory I want to test before we begin, that is, if you don't mind." Rei interrupted. She knew it was a rude thing to do but this was something she had thought about quite a bit since coming to the facility and watching old footage of Haruka in action.
Leumya raised an eyebrow. Color her curious. "And what pray tell is this theory of yours?"
Rei took a deep breath, there was no backing out now. "I want to see if I can actually hurt you if we were to battle." she explained. "I've seen the footage of Haruka in action and some of general Tanaka's battle trials with her and something I noticed immediately was that she made it through every single combat encounter without so much as a scratch on her."
"Really now?" Leumya said curiously. She of course already knew this as she'd seen the kaiju girl in action before, but she hadn't expected Rei to catch something like that so quickly. She really was smart for her age. Sakurai would be proud. "So, in other words you want to see if magic can defeat magic?"
"Precisely." Rei nodded. "No weapon forged has been able to break Haruka's skin or even leave a mark, so I need to see if a kaiju can actually hurt another kaiju."
The older giantess was smirking now. Rei was going to be real force to be reckoned with when she came into her own. "Alright then..." Leumya walked across from the younger giantess and stood firm. "Come on! Hit me with your best shot!"
Rei's eyes widened. "What!?"
"You said you needed to see if a kaiju could hurt another kaiju, so come on... hit me with your best shot. Anything you dish out I can take." Leumya shouted.
Rei went from shocked to determine as she stared down the more experienced of the two of them. Leumya wanted her to hit her with something big, so she was going to hit her with something big.
*CRACKLE*
"Huh?" Rei looked down at her left hand as it crackled with electricity. She still didn't have full control over her powers, but there was just something about the way her left hand burned with energy. Yes, she knew what she needed to do. "Very well, get ready sensei!"
"I was born ready." Leumya answered.
"AHHHH!!!" Rei screamed as she charged the taller giant. As she did some of the lights in the simulation began to flicker in and out. She was going to go all in on one attack and her sensei with everything she had.
Leumya just stood there waiting, not even bothering to put up her hands. She was going to take the giant girl's attack head on and see what she could do.
She was close now. So very close, estimated impact in t-minus ten seconds.
10... 9... 8... 7... 6... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... 0...
Rei struck hard and true, and, in a flash, the entire simulation went white. Neither giant could hear a thing other than a high pitch ringing in their ears. Something had happened and when the light finally faded, it became all too clear.
Rei's jaw dropped
