For as long as Haruka could remember she loved the beach. She loved the warm sun, the toasty sand, and the cool feeling of the water against her skin. She loved making sandcastles, the shave-ice salesmen, and helping her mom bury her dad up to his neck in sand.
Those were all good memories that were tied to the beach and every year she and her family kept up the tradition. It didn't matter that she was now as big as a skyscraper, nothing would stop them from having a good time at the home of the sand and surf.
While Mako lied back on her beach towel enjoying her shave-ice, her husband Ken simply smiled and waited for her to feed him some too. It was kind of hard to snack when he was buried up to his neck in sand.
Both parents looked out to the sea as the birds flew overhead, waiting for their daughter to rise from her underwater adventure.
"She's been down there a pretty long time." Mako noted as she fed her husband some shave-ice. It was strawberry, his favorite flavor.
He licked his lips. "Don't worry Mako, she'll come back up soon. Besides, it's rare we get some alone time like this."
The woman blushed at her husband's teasing. He was right though; it was rare that they got to have some alone time thanks to their daughter's fame. They had to literally rent out the entire beach just to get away from it all.
Mako placed the cup of shave ice down before leaning in to Peck Ken on his lips. He hadn't expected her to do that since she was blushing like a tomato.
He was now too...
The two simply smiled at each other. Before anything could escalate however, something in the distance caught their eyes. A lump in the middle of the sea that was fast approaching.
Both parents knew instantly what it was. As the lump grew closer it began to become all the clearer that Haruka had returned from her undersea journey.
Her soaking wet hair was the first thing to appear, followed by her eyes, nose, and the rest of her face. Her neck then rose from the waves, and her shoulders and chest soon followed suit.
Her stomach then made and appearance, as well as the rest of her arms and her legs and feet soon left the waves behind. She touchdown on the sandy beach in front of her parents. blocking out the sun and giving them an equally warm smile.
What caught their attention most besides that, however, was what Haruka was carrying in her hands.
Ken's eyes widened. "No way...!?"
Mako wasn't that far behind him. "Is that...!?"

Sakurai sat in his office watching the news as they interviewed Haruka and her family about the old pirate ship she had brought to the surface, perfectly preserved and still filled to the brim with gold and precious jewels.
This discovery and new jump in fame for the kaiju girl did not make him happy.
The man frowned heavily and began to click his pen repeatedly, a sign that showed he was indeed very displeased. He took a deep breath and placed his pen off to the side.
He killed the tv and turned his attention back to his computer. He had reports to go over and calls to make. He had to remind himself that Haruka would be delt with in time.
For now, though, he had work to do.
