After getting situated in the Hawaii base, Rei found herself being escorted around by her father and his two friends. Essentially, they were giving her a tour of the place and showing off some of the state-of-the-art technology they'd developed since Haurka first appeared.
To say what she saw was fascinating would be an understatement. First off, they had actual robots with lasers marching around the base. They were tall and chrome and their blasters looked like they'd been ripped straight from the Terminator.
Another thing she was able to admire was the science labs. They were so advanced looking and filled to the brim with all kinds of beakers and equipment. They even had a computer on the backwall the size of a billboard.
The tour itself was something Rei would never forget, and it helped that if there was something she didn't understand, her father would answer questions and fill in the blanks.
"This is in incredible." Rei breathed as all four of them filed into a large white elevator.
"I sure hope so, this cost the government a pretty hefty sum." Tanaka commented.
"Not to mention some our more personal project demanded we invest out of our own pockets." Havoc scoffed.
"Gentleman, instead of focusing on the cost, let's focus on the who all of this will be for." Sakurai cut in before gesturing to Rei who had been listening intently.
Both men nodded before Tanaka pressed the T' button on the elevator.
Down they all descended.
"Where are we going now?" Rei asked. The entire trip had been wonderful, and she was eager to see what else the base had in store for her.
General Havoc was the one to answer her question. "We're going to the dome."
Rei looked confused. "The dome?"
"It's a state-of-the-art underwater test facility." Tanaka spoke up. "There's someone there we'd like you to meet."
"Really?" the blue-haired girl perked up. Her excitement meter was off the charts.
Sakurai chuckled at her youthful energy. "Indeed. I think it would benefit you a great deal to sit down and speak with her. She has... experience when it come to the kaiju life."
It was then the elevator dinged and came to a stop. The doors slid open to reveal a long hallway lined with doors.
"Wow." Rei observed everything with wide eyes. Everyone stepped out of the elevator and down the hall. At the end was a big steel door that was at least fifteen inches thick. There were two human guards there who saluted them before radioing in.
The steel doors opened to reveal a large white room with a giant glass dome as the ceiling. Rei was stunned. She could literally see the ocean and all the fish going by, and in the center of the room was... a woman? A woman surrounded by the carnage of mechanical corpses and oil.
Rei gasped.
Sakurai smirked, as did the rest of his colleagues. "Don't worry, she won't bite. In fact, she's just the giantess we're here to see."
