Ken and Mako couldn't believe that this was actually really happening. Their one and only daughter Haruka has been captured and brutalized, and now they were being held at gunpoint by the heartless monster behind it all. This was hell, and Masahiro Sakurai was the devil.

"It's over Mr. and Mrs. Kayoki. There's nowhere left to run, and nowhere left to hide." He began. "You're daughter is ours, and I won't make the same mistake I made last time."

Ken's protective instincts kicked in as he pulled his wife behind him. "You won't get away with this, Sakurai. Someone will find out the truth about what happened here today! Someone will find out and stop you!"

The older man just laughed. "Really? Those are your last words. Some banal cliche? Honestly, I don't know why I expected anything more from you. A man so blind he can't even see the bigger picture in front of him."

"What is there to see!?" Mako finally snapped. "You're a monster! You and Junko both! All you want is power and you don't care who you hurt so long as you get what you want! "

"Mako..." Ken whispered, in awe of his partner's bravery.

"You're the worst kind of monster and you're going to burn in hell for everything you've done to Haruka and everyone else!" she finished, huffing and puffing in anger as she did.

Sakurai didn't look the least bit concerned, however. "My, what a passionate little speech. You're just as unoriginal as your late husband."

BANG!

A shot rang out in the empty halls of the B.L.A.C.K facility. This time it wasn't from two titans doing battle, it was from a simple man with a gun. All was quiet a few seconds later, save for the tiny pitter patter of liquid touching the ground.

Ken Kayoki gripped his chest as crimson liquid drained from the fresh hole in his heart and onto the floor. He struggled to breath, and he struggled to stand. He turned his head towards the shocked and horrified face of his love before collapsing to the ground.

His life essence was now flowing from his lips and pooling all around him as his eyes lost their shine. His last thoughts were of his wife and daughter and how he had failed them so spectacularly. He would never touch Mako's face again, he would never go fishing with Haruka again. All he wanted was to hold them tight and never let go, but life wasn't fair... It was cruel.

Everything faded to black and just like that, Ken Kayoki was gone.

"KEN!" Mako shouted in anguish at the loss of her love. She fell to her knees and cradle the man she'd known all her life in her arms. "Ken! Ken! Come wake up! Please! Please, don't leave me! Don't leave Haruka! We need you! Please, come back! AHHH!"

Sakurai watched the broken and widowed woman with a blank expression on his aged face. He was no stranger to death. He'd seen his fair share of it in the military and knew this wouldn't be the last time a corpse laid at his feet.

He raised his gun at the sobbing woman and committed the sight to memory. "I'll at the very least make sure you're buried together."

He pulled the trigger, and another loud bang filled the air. The sobbing had ceased, replaced by gasping. Mako had been shot. Sakurai shot her in the head. She was looking up lights yet for some reason her consciousness hadn't faded. Was this some kind of cruel joke life was playing on her? She was still alive and couldn't move. Was this her fate. Her family broken and her a prisoner in her own body unable to even die.

Rage!

Anger!

Hate!

Sadness!

Those were the only emotions she could feel in the pit of her soul. Sakurai, Junko, YAGYU, the military, all of them had taken everything from her. Her daughter, her husband, her life! Damn them all! Damn them all straight to hell! Why? Why her? Why Ken? Why Haruka? Why their happy family!

Fuck them all!

Sakurai sighed completely unaware of the vile thoughts bubbling in the woman's mind. He was about to walk away and call for a cleaning crew when he noticed the rising and falling of her chest. "Well how about that. You actually survived a shot to the head. Not a lot of people can say that."

He aimed his gun to finish her off when all of a sudden, she began to convulse.

"What the devil!?" Sakurai gasped before taking a few steps back. The woman was tossing and turning like she was having a seizure. Years of military training told Sakurai to run and he'd long since learned to trust his instincts. He turned tail and ran as the woman behind him began to change.

Something dark had been unleashed and all hell was about to break loose again.

Sakurai reached into his blaze and pulled out a walkie. "I need whosever left to the east tunnel. I repeat, send all remaining forces to the east tunnel!"

Little did those forces know, a new Kaiju was being born.
