The sun was beginning to set on this warm and carefree day, the once blue sky now bathed in a vibrant shade of orange. Japan's resident Kaiju girl Haruka resolved to spend the entire day on her island's beach, simply watching the day go by.
Normally the bubbly girl would be out and about in the city spending time with her friends and fans, but today she couldn't find it in her to indulge in these privileges. Instead she found herself curled up with her knees against her chest and a frown on her face.
She still couldn't shake that feeling in her stomach after her meeting with the general. That Junko woman had pretended to be her fan just so she could steal her DNA, and that scared her. For the first time in her life since becoming a giant she was terrified. What would Junko use her genes for?
Images of other giant monsters and the world on fire came to mind. Sure she was young but she understood what pain and misery were. She'd seen them so many times as a giant when helping out the city or aiding the police. She'd seen death, destruction, and despair. They were some of her motivators to stay positive and help others.
She'd told her parents about her inner strife and they did their best to stay optimistic for her. Maybe the military wouldn't do anything bad at all. Maybe there'd be other giants like her and they could all be friends. It was all sweet and innocent talk that bordered on childish, but it was still a nice thought all the same.
Despite wanting something like that she knew deep down in her heart that that wasn't the case. If the army took her DNA it was because they wanted a weapon. She knew and the general knew it. That's why the man had gone out of his way to warn her of the coming danger.
Just thinking about another girl just like her being used as a weapon of mass destruction made her feel sick. It made her feel guilty. Someone was going to be turned into a big gun that walks and it would be all her fault. All because she couldn't keep her drool in her mouth where it belong.
The Kaiju girl sighed as she looked out at the sun slowly lowing itself from view. There was still light out and she was content to just sit here.
"What am I going to do?" she whispered.
It was then she felt something was amiss. She turned her head to see smoke rising in the distance. "Smoke?" she questioned. Upon closer inspection she saw the black cloud was coming from...
Her eyes widened and she shot up to her feet. She began barreling through the forest, not caring about the trees she toppled or the bushes she crushed. A pit was forming in her stomach and it was only growing with every second.
"Mom!? Dad!?" The giantess called as she burst through the foliage. What she saw made her breath hitch... fire! Fire everywhere! The forest was burning, her home was burning.
Without thinking the monster girl rushed into the inferno and began overturning any debris she came across.
"Mom!? Dad!?" she cried as she searched and searched, but so far found nothing. Tears were beginning to well up in her eyes as she grew more and more desperate to find any trace of her parents.
Why was this happening?
How could she let this happen...?
She was right here the whole time!
Her thoughts where soon interrupted by a horrible blinding light. It was so bright she actually threw her arms over her eyes. Then there was the sound that accompanied it, the sounds of grinding metal.
Eventually the light died down as well as the sun. The only light now was the burning fire around her and the light of the crescent moon. Haruka looked up to see a sight that nearly made her jaw drop and her legs tremble. A humanoid figure slightly taller than herself and covered in armor. There was also and ominous glowing circle in the center of their chest. They also had a helmet that obscured their face and eyes. All in all they looked like a big metal samurai.
Haruka gulped nervously... could this be--? "W-who are you!? What have you done with my mom and dad!?"
The metal titan didn't answer, it just held out it's hand and let the shredded remains of meat fall from it's grasp. Haruka looked on in shock and horror as she put two and two together. This mechanized monster killed... her family!
She let out a vicious roar of pain before without thinking, charging the killer robot. She only took about three steps before she was sent flying through the flames and into the side of a boulder. The monster girl let out a cry of pain and tried her best to sooth the pain coming from her cheek.
The beast hit her and it hurt. It actually hurt. She looked up at the beast with scared eyes as the flames dance behind it, giving it the appearance of a vile demon straight from the depths of hell.
It finally spoke, it's voice cold and mechanical... yet at the same time, familiar.
"It's about time, Haruka. You've made my life a living hell and now I'm going to burn yours to ash. Prepare to die!"
