Sakurai was a hard man to impress. He'd been a part of Japan's hierarchy longer than Tanaka and Junko combined, so to say he'd pretty much seen everything there was to see would be an understatement of an understatement.
But then there were those oh so rare moments that would make his his eyes pop. Just like the first time he laid eyes on the 160ft menace known as Haruka. That was a moment that would be etched into his memory forever.
What he was seeing now though, would sit side by side with that memory. It had to be about 170ft tall if not more so. Looking up at this behemoth, he couldn't help but be rendered near speechless.
It was as big as Harukazilla and covered head to toe in some kind of cybernetic armor. On the hands and feet were sharp silver gauntlets and shin guards, the torso was armored up as well with the a glowing reactor in the center, and the face was covered by what looked like a menacing silver kabuto. Overall the monster looked like a big metal samurai.
"Wow." Sakurai breathed from the other side of the glass. He'd lost track of how long he'd been staring at the girl in Junko's lab, and the blonde scientist was quick to tease.
"Don't stare too long now or you'll go blind."
That seemed to break Sakurai out of his trance and he did his best to regain his composure. "Right. So what can you tell me about the subject and this... body armor?"
Junko smiled. "Let's just say this girl right here has an axe to grind and will do whatever it takes to put Japan's resident kaiju idol in the ground."
"Alright." Sakurai nodded, leaving it at that. "And the armor?"
"The latest in cutting edge technology. We put roughly 207,724,000,000.00 yen into this cyber samurai armor. The metal is comprised Tungsten and outfitted with all kinds of cybernetics and Nano machines. There's also a few hidden weapons as well. The armor itself was tested against various weapons in our military and a couple of Tanaka's failed projects for good measure." Junko explained. "This girl here... is the perfect war machine."
"Amazing." Sakurai whispered. "So what exactly are we naming our newest asset?"
"I'm glad you asked. This is first generation anti-kaiju weapon... Yagyu!" Junko giggle. "I kinda wanted a name to fit the whole samurai motif."
"I like it. So how long before she's ready for actual deployment?" Sakurai questioned as he watched the giant's head turned toward him.
"She's ready whenever you see fit. She's been waiting a long time to get her revenge?"
That's all Sakurai needed to hear.
