After discussing the matter for a few more minutes and enjoying a good laugh, it was finally time to part ways. The two still didn't know what to fully expect when Junko finished her project, but what they did know for certain was nothing would ever be the same again.
"Well it's about time I got back home, my parents will start to worry if I'm out too late." Haruka explained with a smile, though the general could tell there was something else behind it.
"I understand, Just be careful out there." he warned. If Junko's plans really did come to fruition, then it would be up to the two of them to neutralize the threat. How ironic, the enemy of the enemy was now his... friend?
Haruka giggled "Don't worry, I will. If this Junko lady really does make another monster like me, I'll clobber them!"
For some reason hearing that eased Tanaka's mind ever so slightly. "I'll hold you to that. Remember to keep in touch if you see anything strange and I'll do the same."
The kaiju girl gave him a thumbs up "I will!"
"Good." Tanaka smiled as he began to prep his helicopter for takeoff. The giant began to walk away but suddenly stopped for a moment. The general noticed this but said nothing. Haruka didn't turn to face him, yet spoke all the same.
"Thank you."
With her peace said, the giantess continued her trek back home. Tanaka didn't know what it was about the way she thanked him, but it left him feeling more hollow than anything. It almost sounded like she was saying....
No! His mind was just playing tricks on him. She was too young to understand something like that. He pushed her words to the back of his mind and took off into the skies. As he did he couldn't help but think about Junko and the future of his country.
That woman could not be allowed to succeed.
