Ethan sat on the edge of his bed, wrapped in a blanket that felt like it was doing nothing to hide what had just happened. His hair stuck out in wild tufts, skin still tingling in a way he didn’t want to think about.

Marcus sprawled out half-naked on the floor like a smug cat, one arm draped over his forehead. “Dude. I think we just broke a world record for… uh, hands-on research.”

Ethan shot him a glare. “Shut up.”

Marcus grinned. “What? I’m just saying, you’ve got a killer invention. Like, Nobel Prize level. Or… at least PornHub Hall of Fame.”

“Marcus!”

“What?” He propped himself up on his elbows, still glowing with post-orgasm bliss. “You can’t tell me you didn’t like it. You were making sounds, dude. Real sounds.

Ethan’s face turned scarlet. “We’re never talking about that again.”

Marcus sat up, digging around for his borrowed clothes. “Yeah, yeah. Sure. Totally never talking about it again.” He smirked. “Except maybe every time I see you from now on.”

Ethan groaned and pulled the blanket over his head.

“Anyway,” Marcus said, tugging his shirt back on, “we've got school tomorrow, right? Big science fair?”

“Yeah…” Ethan’s voice was muffled under the blanket.

Marcus’s grin widened. “Bro, you’re seriously gonna walk in there looking like this? You’ll win first prize before anyone even looks at your machine. Hell, half the guys will vote for you just for showing up.”

Ethan yanked the blanket down just enough to glare. “I can’t go like this. I need to figure out how to change back.”

Marcus glanced at the Morphisizer remote on the desk. “Can’t you just… zap yourself? Like, reverse it?”

Ethan frowned. “Theoretically. But the calibration’s still off. I could end up with… I don’t know. Lila’s head and my old body. Or no eyebrows. Or…”

Marcus snorted. “Dude, I’d pay money to see the no-eyebrow version.”

Ethan threw a pillow at him.
