The age of steam has come. Mechanization is in full swing. Great steps in technology and science have been made. Some become rich, while most toil away to make the few rich. While many advancements have been made through human ingenuity, they still hold little sway or power in society. Though more sexually progressive, prejudices have still formed among anthros. Many such views affect the laws and policies of a nation. Anthros like rats and pigs are seen as lessors and dirty, while anthros like lions, deer, dogs, bears, horses, etc. are seen in a more noble light. Despite the contributions that humans make, anthros tend to be quite patronizing towards them. Seeing them as useful for the things they create, or the service they provide. But anthros felt that they knew what's bests for humans, even when the humans disagree. The closest humans have come to politics is a politician's secretary, or a consort in nations which still had monarchs. Humans born to anthro families don’t have it any easier. Facing the same prejudices of their anthro parents, the condensation towards humans in general, even the fact that they will be given to their spouse with little say in the matter.
