In the back bedroom, lobbying had already begun for the vote. Ken’s rectangular glasses fogged immediately, but he didn’t take them off.

“Data suggests we eliminate Polly,” he said, voice echoing off the tiles. “She’s trapped in a 390-pound frame with zero mobility. Liability in future challenges. Vote her out, we cut dead weight. More specifically, we eliminate the chance that any of us end up stuck in Charlie's body.”

Svetlana stretched her platinum legs across the couch, ice-blue eyes calculating. “But Polly is finished. The Brand is dead. She’s crying in the kitchen right now, trying to wipe the grease out of her hair with paper towels.” She paused. “But Charlie—in her body—is chaos. Unpredictable.”

Walt adjusted his linen shirt. “Gentlemen. Lady.” He smirked at Svetlana. “The way I see it, Polly’s useless to me now. She’s a hog. Literally. But the crypto-kid’s right—she can’t compete. She’ll lose every challenge until we’re rid of her.” He leaned forward, Botoxed forehead gleaming. “That's the genius of keeping her. Charlie’s walking around with 32DDs and a 22-inch waist. He’s gonna get cozy with the jury. He can win a challenge or two. And he’s gonna play the ‘I’m a victim’ card while he’s literally jiggling in a bikini, living it up for viewers.”

“He’s crude,” Ken said. “Focus groups hate crude women.”

“He’s not a woman,” Svetlana corrected. “He’s virus in system. I say we extract the virus. Vote Charlie out in Polly’s body. Let him go home in the trophy wife frame. Polly stays as the gamer, gets medically evacuated in two weeks from heart failure.”

Walt nodded slowly. “Two birds. We axe the chaotic male mind in the female body and we let nature handle Polly.”

“Consolidated,” Ken said, pushing his fogged glasses up. “Charlie. First vote.”

Svetlana smiled, sharp as a scalpel. “Done.”
