Trevor opened his eyes to the sterile white light of the Tokyo SwapPort lounge. He sat up—slowly, deliberately. His limbs felt slightly heavier, his breath deeper. There was a new steadiness to his movements, like his muscles knew discipline in a way his old body never had.
He caught his reflection in the wall mirror: salt-and-pepper hair combed into a razor part, dark eyes that didn’t blink too fast, and a tailored gray suit that fit like it was sewn onto him. His jaw had a dignified cleft now. His skin bore light age lines but not in a way that felt weak—more like he’d earned them through quiet power plays.
“Damn,” Trevor murmured, surprised at how deep and gravelly the voice came out. “I look like a fucking legend.”
But there was something… muted. No testosterone-fueled pump in his veins, no visible six-pack, no shiny watch screaming status. This body wasn’t trying to prove anything. It already had.
The phone in his pocket buzzed. A Japanese assistant’s voice piped in. “Banks-san, your car is waiting. Shall I tell the board you’re en route?”
Trevor stood, smoothing his cuffs. Power radiated from his posture. But his swagger? Dimmed. Being impressive in this body wasn’t a performance. It was a fact.
Still, part of him missed being noticed.
