Caleb—Kira—had no intention of socializing.

He’d planned to hide out in the suite, maybe nap, maybe write in the resort-provided digital journal. But the concierge AI had suggested “light social exposure” as part of the onboarding itinerary, and somehow, that turned into him standing awkwardly by a crystal-blue infinity pool, robe loosely tied over his brand-new body.

The poolside party was already in full swing.

A buff blonde woman in a thong bikini was doing yoga on a towel while a pair of sculpted, laughing men filmed her with visible approval. A heavily inked redhead sipped from a fishbowl-sized cocktail glass while getting a backrub from a tan-skinned man with absurd biceps. Everyone was stunning. Everyone was clearly not in their original body.

“It's weird, right?” someone said behind him.

Caleb turned—and nearly lost his breath.

The man who’d approached was tall. Easily six-foot-four. Square jaw, warm brown eyes, dark skin with a golden glow to it. His smile had teeth just imperfect enough to seem real. He wore only resort-issue swim trunks, and his abs looked like they’d been poured into existence.

“Sorry, I know it’s weird introducing myself when nobody looks like themselves. I’m ‘Ben.’ This week, anyway.”

“Uh, Kira. Yeah. Hi,” Caleb said, swallowing. His voice still caught him off guard—bright and clear, like he was always on the verge of laughing. Or moaning.

Ben’s eyes traveled down his body, appreciative but not gross.

“First time?”

“That obvious?”

“Only to someone who remembers their first time,” Ben said, smiling. “You seem like you’re waiting for permission to breathe.”

Caleb laughed nervously. “I guess I’m still adjusting.”

Ben stepped closer, offering a drink with a tiny umbrella in it. “This helps. That and hot tubs.”

The party was getting louder. Two women were making out on a floaty. Someone was topless on a lounge chair, casually scrolling a tablet. There were zero inhibitions here—and somehow, that freed Caleb.

He took the drink. “Is there a hot tub?”

Ben grinned. “That’s the spirit.”

A few moments later, Caleb was sunk up to his new breasts in bubbling water. His skin tingled. Ben was beside him, shoulder to shoulder, and the heat only made his brain fuzzier.

“A lot of people come here to forget who they are. Is that why you came?” Ben asked quietly.
