Lance Brighton was already sweating through his dress shirt, and it wasn’t even noon. He was no stranger to disasters. But today? Today was a masterclass in human chaos wrapped in synthetic flesh and expensive tans.

The thirty-five-year-old manager of Solstice Shores Swap Resort had been up since five a.m., barking orders into his smartwatch, chugging three protein lattes, and pretending he didn’t hear the rhythmic thwacking sounds coming from Room 212. The last thing he needed today was another dick-pic complaint from housekeeping.

It was the Summer Swapstice—the resort’s most overbooked, oversexed, and overpriced weekend of the year. Bodies were swapping faster than beach towels could be laundered, and everybody wanted to be young, hot, and horny by the pool bar.

The lobby gleamed as immaculately as always as the bright island sun beat through the eastward glass wall, but inside Lance’s head, alarms blared. The place was jam-packed with the crème de la crème of entitled, bored-to-death elites, each one desperate to be someone else — sexier, younger, more outrageous — even if just for a weekend.

He checked his reflection in the lobby’s mirrored elevator doors and straightened his impossibly tight, overpriced Italian blazer. Today his job was just to keep the world’s wealthiest, most entitled people happy while juggling the unpredictable chaos that came with letting them literally live other lives for a week.

His SwappWatch buzzed nonstop. So far today:

  • A celebrity couple just swapped into each other’s bodies and were now screaming at each other in confusion on the marble floor.

  • A hedge fund titan demanded immediate reversal after realizing his “young blonde bombshell” body came with a rather inconvenient bladder.

  • A performance artist was live-streaming from the pool while swapped into a flamingo inflatable — yes, that flamingo — and had already broken three resort rules.

Solstice Shores Swap Resort was a palace of privilege—a gleaming island fortress where billionaires, celebs, and crypto-hedge-fund moguls abandoned their real identities for bodies that screamed youth, beauty, and scandal. For some, it was a chance to escape. For others, a playground to flaunt power in new and deliciously depraved ways.

Lance ran a hand through his slick, sandy-blond hair and glanced down the check-in list.

Client 1:
Name: Graham Hensley
Current Body: Female, 24, 5’8”, 125 lbs, white, long black hair, D-cup, no tattoos
Note: “Very anxious about body. Avoid using gendered pronouns until confirmed.”

Fantastic.

Client 2:
Name: Sierra Monet (VIP Gold)
Current Body: Female, 28, 5’10”, 145 lbs, Dominican, curly auburn hair, E-cup, full-body Brazilian wax
Note: “Do NOT put me in a room with carpet. I want the same suite as last year. And tell Raul I want a tongue massage by 3PM.”

Even more fantastic.

11:58 a.m. – Lobby Check-In Desk

Graham Hensley stood stiff as a surfboard at the marble counter, swaddled in a resort robe three sizes too big. His new female face was pale and twitchy, like someone had just shoved him into a wet dream he hadn’t agreed to.

“I—I think there’s been a mistake,” Graham stammered. “I asked for temporary enhancement. Just like... toned legs and maybe a tan. Not—” He gestured wildly at the bouncing shelf of cleavage visible through her robe. “Not this.

Lance gave his best customer-service smile, the kind he usually reserved for rich assholes and sex-crazed influencers.

“I see you selected Package 4-Beta: 'Babe For The Weekend.' It comes with the full feminine suite, including optional bisexuality. It’s in the fine print.”

“What the hell is ‘optional bisexuality’?!”

“Well,” Lance said, tapping her wristband, “you might find you’re... open to new experiences."

"WHAT?!"

"Temporarily. Please enjoy your stay!”

Just then, the front doors whooshed open, and in strutted Sierra Monet.

She was a goddess of attitude—tall, tanned, and thick in all the right places, wearing a micro-dress that didn’t so much hug her curves as threaten to burst off them. She was also one of Solstice Shores' most reliable customers and it was vital to keep her happy.

“Where’s my boy Lancey?” she purred. “Mommy needs her suite, her champagne, and a cock she doesn’t have to ride herself.”

Lance sprinted around the desk like a cocker spaniel with a clipboard. “Miss Monet! We’ve prepared your usual suite, the oceanview spa tub is warmed, and Raul has been—uh—alerted.”

“Good,” she said, dropping her tote bag and letting her dress ride up far enough to reveal she wasn’t wearing underwear. “And tell the new girls by the pool not to stare unless they’re ready to swallow.”

“Of course,” Lance said.

1:49 p.m. - Concierge Desk

A trembling, pallid man in his late twenties—Caleb, a new client—gripped his SwapPass like a lifeline. He’d signed up for the “Ultimate Escape” package: a full-body swap into a young, fit female body for seven days. The problem? Caleb was terrified of losing himself.

“I don’t want to wake up and be someone else,” he whispered to Lance when he came by for orientation. “What if I forget who I am?”

Lance’s smile was clinical. “That’s the beauty of it. You don’t lose yourself—you get to try being yourself, but better. And if it doesn’t suit you? The swap reverses after your stay.”

Caleb nodded, but the fear didn’t leave his eyes. Lance had an attendant lead him to the swap pods and made a note to check in on the young man later.

2:14 p.m. – Security Office

Lance hunched over the monitors. Camera feeds flickered between topless beach volleyball and an elderly couple in swapped twenty-something bodies fumbling with Kama Sutra poses. In the lobby, a group of seven young men waited in line to check in at the desk, looking rowdy and perhaps already a little drunk. One of them catcalled the woman standing in front of them, a fiery Mexican heiress in her late twenties, standing 5’6”, solidly built with sun-kissed skin and a mane of wild black curls.

Tatiana Reyes. A two-time visitor. She’d booked the “Sex Goddess” package this time, which promised a body to make Zeus himself beg for mercy. Problem was, Tatiana had booked her room here with her boyfriend--and the two of them split about a week earlier. Neither was willing to eat the lost expense of a forfeited Solstice Shores weekend, so both had come. Tatiana was trying to argue her returning status should entitle her to an extra room so she wouldn't have to sleep next to her ex.

Lance’s phone pinged: “Guest 309 spotted swapping into the body of the poolside bartender. Might be mixing drinks with extra ‘spice.’” Another fire to put out.

3:32 p.m. - Hallway

While doing the rounds, Lance found himself suddenly accosted in the third-floor hallway by Damien Marks, though it took him a while to recognize Mr. Marks. Yesterday, Damien had been a 42-year-old white man, tall (6’2”), wiry build, with a perpetually smug smirk and a too-thin mustache. Today, he was a 22-year-old Asian woman, petite (5’3”), with long raven hair and a jaw-dropping F-cup rack that he kept trying—and failing—to conceal under an oversized hoodie. He was panicked, and that made him pissed off.

“I did NOT agree to this,” Damien roared, though it was less intimidating coming from this body. “I wanted the body, not this... extra.” He jabbed a finger at his chest, where the new curves felt like an alien invasion.

"I understand," Lance demurred, but was distracted by a text on his phone. Lance’s heart dropped. The hotel was already a mess, but the real explosion would happen when everyone else found out: a mysterious glitch meant all the SwappPods were currently locked.

No one could swap out. No one could swap in. People would soon realize they were temporarily stuck like this.

As he was processing this and Damien's whining, a screaming phone call came in from the resort’s celebrity chef, who had just discovered his body had been swapped without permission with the head of housekeeping.

Lance took a deep breath, then walked down to the lobby, down to the chaos.
