The door hissed open and in strutted Cassian Wren, billionaire egomaniac and all-around human Red Bull ad. He wore sunglasses indoors, a blazer worth more than Sullivan’s car, and that smug, punchable smirk that never quite left his face.
He stopped dead in his tracks at the sight of the half-naked bombshell standing by Sully’s desk.
Cassian’s eyebrows shot up so fast they nearly detached. “Well, well, who is this?”
Milo shifted awkwardly, crossing his arms over his exposed chest—which, in this new reality, involved jiggling a set of frankly absurd breasts beneath a torn crop top.
Sully stood up way too fast and knocked over his chair. “Uh, this is—this is Mia. She’s the new intern.”
Cassian grinned. “Intern? God, HR’s finally pulling their weight.”
Milo shot Sully a glare, as if to say, “Seriously? Mia?”
Sully returned him a desperate look. It was the first thing he thought of.
Cassian was already moving in, hand outstretched like he expected a kiss on the knuckles. Milo stared at it, then finally shook it with the enthusiasm of a man picking up roadkill.
“You look young,” Cassian said, eyes absolutely not on Milo’s face. “Fresh out of college?”
“Middle of a coding bootcamp,” Milo deadpanned.
Cassian laughed. “Hot and hungry. I like that.” Then, to Sully: “I’m taking her on a little tour. Company culture stuff.”
Sully opened his mouth to object, but Milo shrugged and said, “Sure. Whatever. Let’s do some culture.”
As Cassian led him away, Milo glanced over his shoulder and mouthed, You owe me so hard.
Sully sank into his chair and buried his face in his hands.
