Delaying the Inevitable

In your panicked state you feel the need to gather more information... maybe those fairies are wrong? Maybe you can prevent this?
You quickly fly towards the beach zooming past welcome signs and beautiful decorations made by the fairies. You make it to the dunes and fly across the sand to stare off into the horizon. Your heart sinks as sure enough a massive figure is approaching way off in the distance.
Your heart sinks as your mind thinks of all the potential horrors that may await you. You then spot a more immediate concern as a large shadow approaches from beneath the ocean. You back away from the water as the shadow approaches the shore revealing a beautiful red headed mermaid! She surfaced from the water and her body transformed turning her fish tail into regular legs as she stepped out onto the shore. The beautiful woman stood proudly and announced:
"I Ariel, princess of Atlantis, am here to announce Tefiti herself will be arriving shortly to tour your lands! Make your final preparations please!"
What is she like a realtor for Tefiti!? You shake your head and fly to her. "Hey umm Ariel was it?"
"Princess Ariel" she corrects you and smiles.
"Princess Ariel of course!" You respond "please there must be a mis-"
She sticks her hand out interrupting you and showing you her pearl rings.
You roll your eyes and start to kiss each pearl of the mermaid princess. You hate these stupid royal formalities. Finally you begin again "there must be a mistake right our island isn't all that spe-"
She places a finger on your lips gently though her massive digit muffled your entire face. She then gestures down to her toes which wriggle happily scrunching the soft sand beneath her.
You groan as the last pair of royal feet absolutely destroyed you and you are in no hurry to be near a new pair. Nevertheless you begrudgingly fly down and plant a quick kiss on each foot.
As you plant the second kiss she smiles warmly and says "you were saying?"
You are about to reply when the land starts to tremor rhythmically as Tefiti approaches closer.
Ariel now returning her focus to Tefiti's arrival steps forward accidentally squashing you beneath the ball of her foot and sinking you into the soft sand!
"She's almost here everyone! Please be ready to welcome her! I'm sure she will adore your lovely island!"
Ariel then looks down "sorry little one what did you want to.. guess he left?" She says unaware she is currently standing on you. She then starts to walk around greeting excited fairies along the beach.
