Somehow this material reminded her of something, it had a certain resemblance to something, even if Christine couldn't figure out what at the time. What did it remind her of?
"Honey? Will you keep reading?" Carrie looked at her expectantly after stuffing the material into the device.
"Sorry mom, where was I?" She would definitely figure out what it was that was giving her such a strange feeling, it was important, but for now she helped her mother.

But it didn't help, the device started with whatever it was going to do to you. You figured it out immediately, small hooks scratched over your body until they found a suitable spot, this was apparently your mouth, finally it was pulled out of your crushed mass and freed, you immediately screamed with all your might. "HELP!! STOP!! MAKE IT STOP!" and after that brief moment in which you could call for help, something round went into your mouth, it tasted like plastic, what the hell was that? The round something started to get bigger and at the same time filled with your liquid? This was a new kind of pain that you were now able to experience. It filled you, your squished body popping back into shape only to be pressed straight back into another shape. Did you really just make an insole? Then the painful thing ever happened, something welded the outside of it together or stitched it? It hurt like hell and you lost consciousness.
Your mother and sister briefly heard a strange noise, was it a scream? Your mother didn't pay any further attention to it, Christine, on the other hand, knew these screams, she had heard them very often when she... experimented with you.
"Mum, where is Allen?" She searched the table but there was a lot of packaging waste on it and she couldn't find him.
"Over there where he is all the time" she looked at her chewing gum recycling device, only to see that there was nothing there apart from the leftover packaging. "strange.." she said.
Then they heard a noise from the machine and it opened. The finished insole was revealed, slightly greenish from the material and with an embossed inscription "Property of Christine"
Christine had to laugh. “That was the extra you ordered, that label?” Carrie laughed too, "I thought you liked it." Then she took the insole out of the machine, completely forgetting that Allen had disappeared and that she should have been worried. “Try them straight away”
Christine took the sole and looked at it very carefully. If her fears were correct, they had just made her brother into this insole.
