you hold on to Gina's skirt as she boards an elevator hitting the floor two below you. The doors open onto a floor and she walks until she reaches a door with a sign reading Cassandra Arts. A, small and upcoming modeling agency where Gina knows she can get work.
She flings open the door walking up to a young receptionist. Who sits at a computer typing a phone under her cheek.
“ yes Marissa you have to wear the shellfish bikini top well I’m sorry you’re Jewish and that prevents you from doing this” she looks up at Gina and gestures for her to sit.
“ no, I’m not familiar with the Mosaic Law either take the job or don’t Marissa” now the girl is annoyed and Gina knows why. And finally, with a huff, the girl hangs up the phone.
“ what’s Marissa doing this time?”
“ The guy or girl she’s with now is Jewish so now she thinks she’s that,” The receptionist says looking at her computer.
“ and next week she’ll be Baptist,” Gina says and they both laugh at how quickly Marissa falls into the beliefs of her lovers.
“ it wouldn’t be so bad you know if she wasn’t so desp like hello daddy issues” and both of them laugh.
“ But I’m sorry you’re not here to deal with Marissa's issues that’s my job you’re here for the” she looks at her computer.
“ 3:30 show I guess it didn’t go well upstairs,” The girl says trying to be sympathetic. Hoping she’s not coming across like a bitch she does like Gina she’s nice.
“ no” why do you think I’m down here dumbass Gina thinks but tries not to let her sarcastic side come out. The girl frowns at the obvious between the lines what was not spoken so obvious that it might as well be a highway sign.
“ well head inside,” The girl says as friendly as she can. Where are you during all this?
