You open your mouth to respond, but shut it immediately as you process what Gina's said. You probably held your hopes too high to think that this goddess of a woman would think of you as anything beyond a business opportunity.
"Oh...." you said despondently, clearly surprising Gina, who gently lifts you up off of her desk.
"What's wrong Allen? I thought we had something good going?" Gina asks, genuinely concerned.
You sit down on the palm of her hand and let your feet dangle in the air.
"Oh, I just got ahead of myself is all," you say sadly. "When you said we had something going on, I thought you meant romantically. But I probably should have known better. I....I'll think about the side business thing. It sounds like something I'd be pretty good at," you say.
Gina looks down at you sadly. Truthfully she was still sorting out how she felt about you, but she knew she didn't want to lose you as a co-worker.
How does she respond?
