"Oh, Jim is a lifeguard? But--" Michelle stops herself. "Yeah, and I figure since you're both newbies and seem to have already hit it off, why not pair you up for the day? Jim has already apparently had a bit of an incident here today so this time around you can keep him safe; how's that sound?"
You're a bit offended that Melissa thinks you need to be babied but you had already spent most of your work day beneath your co-workers asses so her point isn't unfounded. "I don't see why not," Michelle concurs.
"How about it, little guy?" she asks. Michelle seems like good people so, "Yeah, sure thing." The two of you share a smile. "Great to hear," Melissa says. "Now, Michelle. If you could find either Kim or Juli, they'll show you both the ropes." "Alright, thank you, Melissa," Michelle says. "Are you alright up there, little guy?" referring to you atop her shoulder.
"I think I'll be fine, yeah, thanks. Michelle." "Well, alright then. Let's go."
