It didn't take long for the village to understand the lady of the trees wished to be completely left alone, that the only way to appease her was to not trespass her domain. The legacy of Tirik's remains made the villagers known she was no fictional myth, and further failed expeditions to contact with her in the spirit of research, diplomacy, and even with the intention to worship her as a deity made everyone understand the correct way Luruhkhatka was to be treated, staying away from her.
The years passed with no further encounters, but also with the development of humanity and the rise of other civilizations that would engage, negotiate and battle for territorial control and power, bringing the end of whole cultural elements such as languages, religions and beliefs. The village where Tirik hailed from so long ago was destroyed by an empire with a desire for further expansion, and amongst it the knowledge and warnings about Luruhkhatka were lost.
Thump-thump-thump-thump-thump....
It didn't take that long for Tirik's spiritual successor to appear, a scout sent to explore the forest and produce the documentation to get a better understanding of its extension and on how to best make use of it for the service of the city itself and the empire it served. The scout, ignorant of the past stories about Luruhkhatka, thought the event was a mere earthquake until he could see the trees falling and replaced by those alien brown columns with visible appendages and the canopy was cleared to allow him the vision of a giant humanoid figure.
"W-what are you?" The scout asked with a trembling voice that revealed a mix of confusion, fear and admiration. The Lady of the Trees remained as beautiful as ever, and despite not knowing anything about her, the scout and its civilization had their own religion and their beliefs about supernatural beings that didn't fit with the description of what he was seeing. What their sacred books said was that beings like the one in front of him just lived in an entirely different plane, so what was it doing here?
Luruhkhatka greeted her latest visitor and victim in the same way she did in the past, her face lit up in a charming way and a smile that caught the poor scout off guard and made him think she was a friendly spirit. However, after a quick peek at the horizon, her face turned into a frown. Beyond the canopy and her domain no longer lied the little village that learned to leave her alone, but an entirely different place with higher buildings, a seemingly constant production of smoke and most importantly, a clear desire to expand with trees in the outermost part of her territory already being cut down as the city kept pushing for more and more ground.
"Hello? I would like to know mo-"
No longer in a playful mood, the Lady of the Trees finished the job quickly, moving her sole in such a quick way it didn't give the scout even a second to beg for mercy. So devastating was her stomp, even the sound of his crushed remains was muffled and didn't echo through the forest like her previous victims were, an announcement of what was to come after the unacceptable behavior of whichever civilization was now in place of the old village.
More drastic measures needed to be taken.
