Quinn made it to the watchtower no problem, she scaled the ladder to the top and took a seat. She placed you on her shoulder so you can get a good view of the beach. It was pretty cool seeing the beach from this new perspective.
Nothing exciting happened, Quinn pretty much just told you what to watch out for and what to do if someone needs help. After about an hour and a half another lifeguard came to relieve you both, it was finally the end of your first shift as a lifeguard!
“Right on Hunter. You survived your first day in one piece. I’m impressed.” Quinn congratulated you again, which made you feel pretty good about yourself! “Now we just have to go see Brigitte so she can evaluate you.” A part of you was nervous to be evaluated, it sounded so formal. Fortunately the day went as planned for the most part, so there shouldn’t be anything to worry about!
You both made it to Brigitte’s office with no issues. Brigitte was sitting at her desk, awaiting your arrival. "Hello there you two!" Brigitte said. "How was your first day Hunter?” You were glowing with accomplishment as you gave her a summary of your first day! Quinn even gave a few praises on your behalf at how well you did. “Well isn’t that splendid!” Brigitte was pleased with her new hire. “I was just looking at some of our reviews from today, and quite a few of them mentioned a brand new tiny lifeguard. All of them were positive reviews on how kind, helpful, and cute you were! Good work, Hunter! I think you’re going to be a great fit here!”
The review comments were very flattering! Though the “cute” ones kind of made you cringe... It didn’t matter though, you killed it on your first day! Nothing could go wrong at this point! Brigitte finalized her evaluation before going over your schedule for the next few weeks. A short time later you were dismissed!
Back outside with Quinn, you were both getting ready to part ways for the day. “Thanks for your help today Quinn! I really appreciate it.” You expressed immense gratitude for your roommate helping you get this job, you swore you saw a faint hint of a smile curl at the corner of her mouth. “Sure thing. You did great dude.”
“Are you sure you don’t want to go to the party?” You asked. “It’d be great to have you there!” Quinn paused for a moment, almost reconsidering... but then she pictured what it would be like to be at a party with Avery’s energy and that dissuaded her instantly. “Nah. Thanks though. Us introverts need our alone time.” Quinn then turned and looked down the beach, she could still see Avery sunbathing on her towel. “You want me to give you a lift back to Avery so you don’t have to walk all the way there?”
You turned your head as well and, like Quinn, could also see Avery a ways down the beach. It was definitely a walk, but nothing you couldn’t handle. “No thanks, Quinn! I got this! Besides, like you said; I need to get used to handling situations like this myself, yeah?” You finished your sentence with a confidence wink eliciting a slight chuckle at Quinn who was impressed by your wit. “Alright then. Guess I’ll see you later!” Quinn walked back towards her car and drove away from the park back to your shared home.
Now on your own, you started to head back towards Avery. Your thoughts shifted back towards the upcoming party as you stepped across the sand, super excited to see Michelle again. However, Sandra was also going to be there too, her forward, flirty behavior today was a tad too much to handle, and you were hoping that she wouldn’t try and get in the way of your time with Michelle. It sounded like there would be other girls there too, which sounded... interesting to say the least.
After some time you saw you were getting closer to Avery! All you had to do was make it over to her and you both can head to that party!
