“Ugh! A bug!” Betty roared, slapping you away before you could say a word. You were sent flying away, soaring through the air, for several seconds before landing back onto the desert of the beach, rolling and tumbling across the sand.
Once your momentum ceased, you stood up and brushed yourself off, grumbling in frustration at what just happened, you were starting to feel quite discouraged about your ability to be a lifeguard, and for a split second you thought about calling it quits.
However, you knew if you allowed a few mishaps to affect your new job, you would never be able to gain any respect in this world. You took a moment to gather your senses before contemplating your next move.
Betty was quite a distance away now, you could trek back to her and try to explain yourself, but she could just attack you again before you have a chance to greet her. Or you could continue on and try to find someone else to help instead.
