Signing your life over to a total stranger A Shrunken Roommate (Re-upload) chapter 12 by Bobob1

(Originally written by Alistair)

As Isabella slid the documents towards you with her well manicured hand, she grinned at you, chewing on the gum in her mouth. She blew a bubble at you teasingly and you swear you could see the faint outline of a face before it burst and she drew it back into her mouth. Her full, plump lips closing and blocking the poor unfortunate man she was tormenting from your view.
“Don’t worry though Hunter, if any of these ones don’t suit you I’m sure I’d be able to find another girl who would suit your needs here,” she said this with a smile to Norah, who smiled back. What you noticed that Norah didn’t was the amused smirk as she looked back to you and continued. “I’ve got some good friends who love tiny guys like yourself and would treat you exactly how you deserve.”
With her thinly veiled threat in mind, you looked over the three documents that Isabella had laid out in front of you and none of them looked very appealing.
On one hand, choosing your Aunt Norah probably wasn’t a good idea considering how ditsy and forgetful she can be, plus she was seeming too happy with you having a usage license. You feared how her view of you could change, plus it would basically give her free reign to send you out on any jobs she needed you fill in for her own job as a tiny recruiter.
Your mother, Helen, also wasn’t ideal. Even though that license only had a one year limit, the embarrassment of signing your life away to be used by your mother wasn’t something you wanted to deal with, plus you imagine she’d view her year of full control over you as her opportunity to punish you for getting into this situation.
You had no idea who this Becky Wallace was, she had the same last name as Quinn so she was probably some relation to her. If she was related to Quinn then she’d hopefully be as level headed as she was and would be less likely to abuse the power you were about to hand over and even if she was, Quinn would be likely to step in and speak up on your behalf.
You contemplated refusing to sign but a brief threatening look from Isabella put those thoughts out of your mind, she already managed to forge a general usage license for you, she could likely do it again.
You grudgingly signed your name on the form that would leave your life in the hands of Quinn’s mom, hoping she’d be kind enough to not abuse the power you just handed her.
“Excellent! I’ll make sure a copy of these documents reach Mrs Wallace,” Isabella exclaimed as she quickly pulled the document away from you before she filled out the necessary parts. “Now I’ll handle your paperwork Norah.”
As Isabella handled your aunts request, a temporary usage license for one of her workers. You sat and contemplated what you had just done. You handed your life away to a complete stranger. You were immediately filled with panic and regret, at least if you had chosen one of your family members you’d at least have known what you were dealing with. Why did you take that sort of gamble? It’s not like you.

After your aunt got her paperwork filled out by Isabella she scooped you up and walked out of the office to take you home. As you were leaving Isabella waved to you with a smug grin.
“Bye Hunter, feel free to drop in at any time. I’ve got plenty of time for you,” she teased you with a wink.
“ I think someone likes you Hunter,” Norah whispered to you with a smile. If only she knew, Isabella seemed to be more of the type to torture a tiny man than date them.

Norah wrapped you back around her wrist and jogged back to your apartment, you were greeted at the door by Morgan. Who thanked your aunt for bringing you back. You chatted with Morgan and told her about what happened at Isabella’s office and she reacted with shock and some confusion.
“Hunter, why didn’t you pick your mom or your aunt?” She asked, baffled.
“I don’t know, my mom would probably put me through the worst tories as a sort of punishment for being so stupid, sort of giving me what I asked for to make sure I wouldn’t do it again,” Morgan listened intently to what you said, her face softening out of pity for your situation. “Then with Norah, the possibility of her moulding me into a shape and then forgetting about me was really high. I’d end up spending weeks at a time as her insole or something like that. Plus she’s a recruiter for tiny specific jobs and the ones she could send me out on now that I have a usage license would be just horrible. I didn’t want that future to be my whole life. At least with Quinn’s relative, whoever she is, Quinn might be able to convince her to cancel the usage license, since you need both parties to agree.”
Morgan opened her mouth to respond, but was interrupted by both Avery and Quinn returning home. They both walked into the living room.
“Hey cutie, how was your day?” Avery winked at you.
“Hey, any word on the license situation?” Quinn asked.
You explained the situation to them and got as far as signing Becky’s usage license before Quinn interrupted you.
“You WHAT!” She cried out in shock. This was the first time you had seen Quinn show this much emotion, which worried you. You tried to explain how awful it would have been with your mom or aunt before Quinn interrupted you again. “Nonono Hunter you don’t understand! My mom hates tiny guys! She’s made so many of my friends disappear I’ve lost count, and that was without her having sole rights to decide what happens to them. If she find out about this she will have free reign to do whatever she wants with you!”
With Quinn’s words the reality of exactly who you had signed your rights over to dawned on you. A tense atmosphere descended over the room as everyone came to terms with what Quinn has just said.
“Quinn, is there any way you could get me out of this?” Your voice came out shaky as your panic levels were rising.
“You know, I’d be half tempted to just let you suffer the consequences of being so stupid!” Quinn snapped, surprising you at how hash she could be. “But I’ve lost too many friends to her so yeah, I’ll help you.”
Her expression softened as she saw how much she frightened you. She stood up to go get her phone to call her mom to explain the situation and try to convince her mom to spare you. She came back a few moments later saying that her mom wasn’t picking up her phone so she’d have to try again later. So you all decided to try and relax for a while till she could reach her.
Later that night, as you were all watching tv, there was a knock at the door. Everyone froze, all turning toward the hallway leading to the door. Quinn looked at you and gave a look of reassurance before going to the door, you heard the faint sound of her greeting someone before she returned to the living room with a grim look on her face followed by...

1) ... Her mother, Becky Wallace. Holding her copy of the usage license. Can Quinn convince her in person to spare you?
2) ... Isabella and Rachel, both grinning evilly. They are holding the usage license that you signed, but it has one of their names on it!
3) ... No one, it was a pair of kids playing a prank who ran off afterwards. (Or writers choice)
