The dragon’s massive claw swung through the air with terrifying speed, narrowly missing Aella’s torso but catching the edge of Max’s thong-shaped body. The sharp talon hooked into him, and with a swift tug, Max was yanked free from Aella’s legs. The barbarian let out a sharp gasp, her hands instinctively flying to cover herself as she was suddenly left exposed.
“What the—?!” Aella’s voice roared, a mix of anger and embarrassment flashing across her face. Her cheeks flushed red as she scrambled to find cover, her powerful legs now bare and vulnerable.
Max tumbled through the air, his tiny, malleable body flailing helplessly before landing in a crumpled heap on the cavern floor. He groaned softly, disoriented and still reeling from the sudden separation. The dragon loomed above, its fiery breath heating the air as it prepared to strike again.
Without Max’s buff, Aella’s strength faltered. Her next swing of her axe lacked its usual ferocity, barely grazing the dragon’s scales. Lyra darted in and out of the shadows, her daggers striking where she could, but it was clear they were losing ground. Mira’s spells fizzled out prematurely, her magic weakened without the boost Max had provided.
“We’re not going to make it like this!” Lyra shouted, her voice tinged with desperation as she narrowly dodged a swipe from the dragon’s tail. “We need Max!”
Mira’s eyes darted to where Max lay, her heart sinking as she saw his tiny, helpless form. She hesitated, her cheeks flushing with a mix of guilt and uncertainty. “But… I can’t just… wear him! That’s so… invasive!”
“Do you want to die here?!” Aella barked, her frustration boiling over as she narrowly avoided another attack. “Just pick him up and put him on already!”
Mira bit her lip, her hands trembling as she took a step toward Max. Her mind raced, torn between her empathy for him and the dire need to survive. She crouched down, her voice soft and apologetic. “I’m so sorry, Max… I don’t want to do this, but we have no choice…”
Max looked up at her, his wide eyes filled with a mix of fear and understanding. He gave a tiny nod, his soft, squeaky voice barely audible. “It’s okay… Just… do what you have to.”
Mira’s heart ached as she reluctantly picked him up, her fingers trembling as she held his squishy, malleable body. She hesitated for a moment, her cheeks burning with embarrassment, before pressing him against her skin and reshaping him into a form that would… fit.
The sensation was strange and unfamiliar, but as Max took shape against her body, Mira felt an immediate surge of power coursing through her. Her magic flared to life, brighter and more potent than ever before. The air around her crackled with energy, and her eyes glowed with a newfound intensity.
“Whoa… this… this is incredible!” Mira gasped, her voice filled with awe. She raised her hands, and a torrent of magical energy surged forth, striking the dragon with a force that sent it stumbling back.
“That’s more like it!” Lyra cheered, her smirk returning as she saw the tide of the battle turning. “Now let’s finish this!”
Mira focused her newfound power, channeling it into a massive spell. The air around her seemed to warp and shimmer as she gathered her energy, her voice ringing out with a commanding tone. “By the elements of the arcane, I call upon the power of the stars!”
The dragon roared, sensing the threat, but it was too late. Mira unleashed the spell, a blinding beam of magical energy that tore through the air and struck the beast squarely in the chest. The dragon let out a final, deafening cry before collapsing in a heap, its body crumbling to ash.
The cavern fell silent, the only sound the heavy breathing of the adventurers as they stared at the remains of the dragon. Mira’s hands trembled as she lowered them, the glow of her magic fading. She glanced down at where Max now clung to her body, her cheeks flushing with guilt.
“I… I’m so sorry, Max,” she whispered, her voice filled with remorse. “I didn’t want to… I mean, I know you didn’t have a choice, and I—”
Max’s tiny voice interrupted her, soft but firm. “It’s okay, Mira… You saved us. That’s what matters.”
Mira’s eyes softened, a small smile tugging at her lips. “Thank you, Max… I just… I hope you’re not too uncomfortable.”
Lyra sauntered over, her usual smirk plastered across her face. “Well, well. Looks like our little thong has a new home. How’s it feel, Mira? Comfy?”
Mira’s face turned bright red, her hands instinctively covering her chest as if to shield Max from Lyra’s teasing. “Lyra! That’s not funny!”
Aella rolled her eyes, crossing her arms over her exposed torso. “Enough chit-chat."
The group paused, catching their breath after the intense battle. The dragon’s lair glimmered with gold and jewels scattered across the cavern floor, a tantalizing reward for their efforts. Aella was the first to move, her eyes gleaming as she scanned the treasures.
“Took down the beast,” she said gruffly. “Now let’s take what’s ours.” She marched over to a pile of coins, shoveling handfuls into her satchel with practiced efficiency. Her earlier embarrassment had faded, replaced by the thrill of victory and loot.
Lyra smirked, her nimble fingers already at work plucking precious gems from glittering necklaces and inspecting them with a merchant’s eye. “These will fetch a fortune in town,” she mused, tucking them safely away.
Mira hesitated, still adjusting to the strange sensation of Max clinging to her skin. “Do we... do we need all this? It feels a bit greedy...” Her voice trailed off as Lyra shot her a look mixed with amusement and disbelief.
“Greed is good, darling,” Lyra quipped, tossing a jeweled bracelet Mira’s way.
As they gathered the treasure, Aella’s gaze fell on the remains of the dragon—or rather, part of it that hadn’t crumbled to ash. One massive scale still gleamed defiantly against pale bone overhead. She approached and brought up her axe, chopping it off with a single swipe.
As the group began to gather their belongings and prepare to leave, Mira couldn’t help but feel a lingering sense of unease. She glanced down at Max, her voice barely above a whisper. “Max… I promise, I’ll make this up to you. You’re not just a tool to us… well, to me, at least.”
Max gave a tiny nod, his voice just as soft. “I appreciate that, Mira… but for now, let’s just focus on getting out of here.”
Mira nodded, her determination returning as she adjusted Max’s form to sit more comfortably against her skin. The group started their trek back through the cavern, the tension in the air slowly dissipating as they moved further from the dragon’s lair.
As they walked, Lyra couldn’t resist one last jab. “So, Mira… does this mean you’re keeping him? Or are we going to take turns?”
Mira’s face turned crimson, her voice sharp with indignation. “Lyra! That’s enough!”
Aella chuckled, shaking her head. “Relax, Mira. She’s just messing with you. But seriously… we’re going to need to figure out what to do with our little friend here. He’s more useful than I thought.”
Max’s tiny form shifted nervously against Mira’s skin, his voice barely audible. “I… I’ll do what I can to help… but…”
Mira’s expression softened, her hand gently brushing against him in a comforting gesture. “We’ll figure it out, Max. Together.”
As the group continued their journey, the weight of the battle behind them and the challenges ahead loomed large. Max’s role in their group was undeniable, but the dynamics between them had shifted in ways none of them could have anticipated. And as they stepped out into the sunlight, the future remained uncertain, their fates intertwined in ways they were only beginning to understand.
Lyra’s smirk returned as she glanced back at Mira, her voice dripping with mischief. “So… about those turns—”
“Lyra!” Mira’s voice echoed through the forest, her face glowing brighter than the sun above. “That’s it! You’re walking the rest of the way by yourself!”
Lyra laughed, her teasing tone unrelenting. “Oh, come on, Mira. You know you love me.”
Mira groaned, her hand instinctively moving to cover Max as if to shield him from Lyra’s relentless banter. “I swear, one of these days…”
Aella rolled her eyes, her voice cutting through the tension. “Enough. Let’s keep moving. We’ve got a long way to go, and I’m not carrying anyone.”
As the group continued their journey, Max couldn’t help but feel a strange sense of belonging. Despite the teasing and the humiliation, he was starting to find his place in this strange, chaotic world. And as he clung to Mira’s warmth, he couldn’t help but wonder what challenges—and possibilities—lay ahead.
“So…” Lyra’s voice broke the silence once more, her tone deceptively innocent. “Do you think Max could turn into a scarf? It’s getting a bit chilly…”
Mira groaned, her face buried in her hands. “Lyra, I’m not having this conversation with you!”
Max’s tiny voice piped up, soft but filled with a hint of amusement. “I… I think I could try…”
“Max! Don’t encourage her!” Mira’s voice was sharp, but her smile betrayed her true feelings.
Lyra’s laughter echoed through the forest as the group continued on their way, the bonds between them—and the stakes of their adventure—growing ever stronger.
“What the—?!” Aella’s voice roared, a mix of anger and embarrassment flashing across her face. Her cheeks flushed red as she scrambled to find cover, her powerful legs now bare and vulnerable.
