Meanwhile behind the hotel... One Foot Tall Fiancé chapter 22 by copier · original author: gtstamer

The tiny woman clad in stealthy black attire hurriedly scurried across the moonlit garden, past several elegantly trimmed topiaries made to look like dancing ballerinas in different poses, making it to to the marble-laid pathway which she followed, hugging closely to the shadows in hopes of not being seen, to the imposing metal doors hidden out of public view at the end. There, a small metal box of dull gray sat ominously in the middle where they connected. Swift as Lucy Lu the barbie doll sized thief bounded her way up to the box only for her to discover what she expected to find. A trio of security systems comprising of a thumbprint and eye scanner set side-by-side with a keypad beneath them. She figured the scanners being for the regular workers at various employee levels while everyone else needing to tap in some sort of security code, handed to them by the security office for the day, to open the lock.

A synthethized voice stated, "Enter authoritarian code."

The miniature woman scoffed.

Erza Espenoza didn't visit Atlantica all that often, but she instantly recognized the digitized voice. How could she not instinctively know? After all, the sound of anyone's own mother is ingrained into their heads. In this case that motherly voice being that of one Ceraza Espenoza, head of of security of the Atlantica hotel and casino resort.

Erza had earlier discarded the notion of entering her biometrics, in addition to any known code she knew of, into the lockbox. She didn't want to leave any trail behind which may lead back to her. Her plan of breaking into the restricted sections of the hotel needed to be as untraceable as possible. To this end she had already ensured the cameras trained on the entrance be tied up in a feedback loop before she approached thanks to her mother being unknowing smuggler earlier that evening when she clocked into the main security office. Luckily her diminutive size had led her go unnoticed into the computers to reprogram them.

With her bases covered Erza proceeded to pry open the bottom of the panel to incert a pair of connectors to the modified cell she carried on her back. The tech classes she took taught her how to change it from a normal phone to a code breaker, at least what she managed to get out of her lesson though not what her teacher had intended her to learn. It took only a few moments thereafter for the screen of her cell to flash green before the pixels dissolved into nothingness.

A solid CLUNK of a latch springing fee echoed into the garden. Erza spun around, nervous sly wondering if anyone had heard that sound. Only the sound of crickets in the chilly November air was all that she found. Erza breathed a sigh of relief as the door creaked open.

Gahering up her device she reset the panel before jumping to the handle inside. Erza pushed closed the door with great effort. The weight of the door reminded her of a 1950's refrigerator. Bulky to the point of obserdity.

Satisfied all was in order she jolted down to the tiled floor. Racing against the way towards her mark Erza timed her bouts to coincide with the panning of the cameras to keep herself undetected in the monitoring screens. A few times barely dodging passing feet as the came out of sliding doors. Erza thanked her lucky stars the owners of those stompers were too preoccupied to notice a mouse avoiding being stepped on beneath them.

Eventually Erza made it to the final hallway. Poking her head around the corner she saw through the glass doors a woman in lab coat approaching from the other side. This was her chance. All she needed to do was perfectly time her run to slip in before they slided closed.

Suddenly Erza heard a whir directly overhead of her.

It was a security camera. Pointed directly down instead of being horizontal like the others. It swiveled slightly in its post. It's lense focused itself right towards her position. The jig was up. She had been caught.

Sirens blared as the lights flashed like exploding fireworks. Panicking, Erza bolted for the door. With nothing left to lose there was no point in keeping hidden anymore. All that mattered was crossing that threshold before it was too late.

The scientist on the other side of the door stopped upon hearing the alarms. She looked about in confusion. Erza was so close she could see her own reflection in the mirrored glass walls. In a one-in-a-million chance as Erza started to slide, like a baseball player sliding for home, the scientists hand came to lay upon the door release.

That was it. Erza became the first unauthorized person to enter the hotels' restricted laboratory. Well, more like glide into. Sliding between the scientists legs Erza looked up under the woman's skirt catching an eyeful of the scientists not so hidden womanly secret.

Soon as Erza coasted to a stop she shrugged. Than was easier than she thought it would be. As luck would have it Erza should've waited before making her observation. Looking back she saw what could be described as blast doors fall down trapping the pantyless scientist in the room with her.

Erza rolled her eyes remembering the old addage that getting in is the easy part.

She had no time to contemplate this as she realized predicament just became undoubtedly worse. The scientist's eyes locked with hers. Erza could see her visibly tense up in pure hatred. "You! You're responsible for this! Come here!"

Erza jumped when the scientist lunged at her. Barely avoiding being caught in her thick hands Erza managed to duck under a desk. Leaning behind it's leg she felt like her heart was about to explode. Erza didn't know how long she could stay out of sight with the scientist searching for her like a hungry cat preying on a helpless mouse.

And she was, unfortunately, the mouse.

"Come out now you little worm!" The scientist bellowed.

Erza shook terrified. Wondering if she should....
