A good minute or two of complete silence passed after you finished your story of Tara nearly dooming you to an eternity fused with her butt cheek. Cassie was silently fuming and attempting to reign in her growing anger. Maddie and Kimberly seemed lost in thought, caught between being impressed at your resilience and disturbed by your aunt’s mean actions. Only Sophie was smiling, but she had a distant look in her eyes.
Finally, Sophie’s eyes gleamed brightly, and she smiled wide. “Ooh! I got it!” She declared happily. Her cheerful voice was so jarring that Maddie, sitting beside her, actually jumped in surprise.
“Geez, Soph! Giving me a heart attack here!” Maddie put a hand to her chest, and Sophie grinned sheepishly.
“Sorry. I just finally thought of something fun.” The bubbly blonde twirled a strand of her hair as she spoke. “See, Jake’s story kinda bummed us all out, though I’m glad he told us. But, like, we’ve gotta be happier! Cassie’s home on break, her adorable fiancé is with her, and we should be having fun instead.”
Cassie took a deep breath, and finally managed to sincere smile, pushing thoughts of Tara aside. “You’re right, Sophie. If it’s alright with Jake, I’m good with moving on from serious discussions.”
You nodded in agreement. “Absolutely. I’m always down to destress. Did you have something in mind, Sophie?”
The energetic giantess rocked back and forth excitedly. “I sure did! I think we should all play a family game together, for a bit of bonding time! And, and and and, what better game to play than Twister?”
Cassie instinctively glanced at you, and you met her concerned gaze, but Kimberly talked first. “Goodness, we haven’t played that in ages. I suppose I wouldn’t mind.” The Smalls matriarch glanced at herself. “Lucky that I’m already wearing appropriate attire.” She said, in reference to her red blouse and black leggings.
Maddie flashed a cocky grin and a thumbs up. “I’m game! Just as long as everyone is alright with me winning!” Her outfit was suitable for the game as is, consisting of a tight sports bra and compression shorts. Sophie was also already set, though her cute and revealing swimsuit was admittedly a little bit more risqué than one would normally see for a game of Twister.
Your fiancée nervously looked down at her own attire, an appealing low-cut t-shirt and jean shorts. “Uh…I guess I’m fine too. But do you really think that Jake can–”
Feeling overwhelmingly confident, you spoke up and cut off your fiancée. “I’m all in! Let’s do this!” Kimberly raised her eyebrows in a mix of surprise and acceptance, Sophie and Maddie smiled happily, and Cassie gave you a worried look. Discreetly, you nodded your head to her, signifying that you’d be fine. You desperately wanted to unwind after that story about Aunt Tara, and any chance to grow closer to her family members was a chance you’d jump at.
Slowly pulling her eyes away from you, Cassie smiled at her youngest sister. You could see the hesitation still written on her face, but not in her voice as she spoke. “Alright, Soph! Go get the game, and we’ll move things around in here.”
Giggling gleefully, Sophie sprang from her seat and rushed out of the room. You hopped down from the table and scurried to the side of the room while the other Smalls women got to work. Maddie and Cassie skootched the couch closer to the wall and the reclining chair in the corner of the room. Kimberly dragged the center table across the carpet towards the wall, and you tried to pitch in by gathering up loose pieces of trash left behind under the couch and table, and threw them up into the nearby trash can.
After a minute, Sophie returned, carrying the hefty Twister box under her arm. She nearly stepped on you as she carelessly skipped back into the living room, but you managed to sidestep her foot stomping down. She didn’t even notice, and you admittedly felt a sinking feeling deep within you that this was only a taste of what was going to come in the next hour. Still, you were determined to join the Smalls women in their family bonding time, and prove to Kimberly you were eager to be a part of her family.
Dropping the box on the distant table, Sophie and Maddie pulled out the larger-than-usual play tarp and unrolled it across the carpet. The tarp, comprised of eight rows of eight colored dots, took up nearly all the empty space in the room. Cassie dutifully set four heavy books on the corners of the tarp to keep it from sliding or rolling up during the course of the impending game.
While Cassie and Sophie got the special electronic spinner ready, Kimberly and Maddie took to stretching their arms and legs as a form of warmup before the game began. Taking a cue from them, you followed suit, sitting down and touching your toes and bending your arms behind your back. You got so involved in stretching that you didn’t even notice Maddie take a few small steps back as she bent her knees and fell into a deep squat right above you.
Instinctively you held up your arms to brace for impact, too startled to cry out. Thankfully, Maddie’s descended butt hovered a few inches above your head. Still, it was petrifying to see her compression shorts-clad ass fill up your entire vision, one wrong move away from falling down and completely pulverizing you beneath it. You stayed frozen in place, trying to catch your breath.
Standing back up, Maddie happened to glance backwards and spot you. She cocked her head to the side. “Uh, interesting stretch there, dude. Whatever works for ya!” She smiled, then looked away. To her, your arms folded over your head to brace for what you thought was going to be a butt slam simply looked like odd yoga. She hadn’t realized the effect her simply squatting had had on you. Yet another bad omen of things to come, but you ignored it and pushed your fears aside.
Speaking loudly, Sophie drew everyone’s attention. “Alright, time for the game to start! All five of us will be playing, and the electronic spinner will give each of us a turn in order. It’ll call us out by our initials.” She kicked out her dainty feet and wriggled her toes. “Also, I’d totes recommend taking off socks. It’s easy to slip on this mat.”
Kimberly nodded. “Of course, safety first.” Lifting one leg up at a time, she peeled her black socks off of her feet, and tossed them over her shoulder. Unfortunately, the trajectory sent the socks sailing straight towards you. Ducking under her first sock, the second slightly sweaty sock struck you in the face, knocking you onto your back. Before you could sit up, Maddie had also taken her socks off and tossed them in the same direction as her mother, and the tangy, moist socks slapped down on top of you.
They were only socks, at the end of the day, so it took you no more than a few seconds to scramble out from underneath them. Still, their traces of sweat had stuck to you immediately. Also, as you stood up and moved away from them closer to the board, you noticed how none of the giantesses in the room had seen what they’d just done. Even Cassie was smiling ear-to-ear at her sisters and mother, fully onboard with the idea of Twister now that they were all set to begin.
With childlike glee, Sophie flicked the START switch on the electronic spinner with her toe, and a droning audio voice called out. “Player S, right foot red.”
“That’s me!” Sophie exclaimed, leaping dramatically onto the play tarp and slamming her right foot onto one of the open red dots. Maddie and Cassie sighed at their sister’s ridiculous exuberance.
“Player J, left hand green.”
You, being the only one with a name beginning with ‘J’, knew that it was your turn now. Racing forward, you sprinted onto the tarp towards the nearest green dot, and slapped your hand down onto it. Sophie and Kimberly nodded in an approving manner, and Maddie get your gaze with a confident, competitive grin in her eyes.
“Player C, left foot blue.”
Cassie grinned and stepped forward towards a blue dot, setting her foot down. Catching your eye, she winked and then suddenly paused. It dawned on her, her foot resting a few inches away from you, just how small you really were on this mat. Frowning, she turned to her family. “H-hey, we’re a lot bigger than Jake, so remember to watch–”
“Player K, right hand yellow.”
“Alright! Time to show you girls how to play this game!” Kimberly announced loudly, walking onto the tarp and sliding her hand onto a yellow dot. She didn’t even realize she’d cut Cassie off, and before Cassie could try to re-announce her warning, the audio voice beat her to it.
“Player M, left foot green.”
Maddie rolled her shoulders as she entered the metaphorical ring, the last giantess onto the tarp. “Really, mom? I’m walking away with the win this time!”
Sophie smirked playfully. “Only if you two can manage to beat me!”
Sophie, Maddie, and Kimberly all laughed, and even Cassie joined in. As the announcer voice cycled back to Sophie’s turn, Cassie completely forgot about even giving her family an extra precautionary warning to watch out for you. You took notice of this, but tried to give the Smalls women the benefit of the doubt. Surely this would all work out okay, right?
Finally, Sophie’s eyes gleamed brightly, and she smiled wide. “Ooh! I got it!” She declared happily. Her cheerful voice was so jarring that Maddie, sitting beside her, actually jumped in surprise.
