Around 35 minutes have gone by, and you and your friends start to wonder what could be taking your mom so long. This is doubt is quickly quieted when the door opens about 5 minutes later, seeing your mom come in with the pizza and her purse, with what looked to be a bag on it. She sets the pizza down on the coffee table, and separates a piece for you and your friends to enjoy.
"With you boys on the slice it almost looks like I got extra pepperoni haha". She said chuckling
"As long as we don't look too appetizing for you to eat us Mrs. Swift" Josh said jokingly
"Why aren't you having any mom. I thought you said you were starving" you ask quizzically
"I am hungry, but I'm just gonna wait for a little while until after you boys are all finished up there".
As you and your friends were finishing up your pizza, your mom started to rummage through her purse, pulling out a few things. You saw her grab a glass of water and take a tablet, swallowing them both. Once you were finished, you saw your mom put a few things down on the table, with a huge smile on her face. Getting off of the pizza slice, you and your friend's approached the box. You saw that there were 4 boxes of knockoff goPro's that came equipped with a flashlight.
"These are for you cuties" she said
You looked up to your mom in confusion.
"What are these for mom?"
"They're for your project"
"What would we use these for though?" you said
"Can you stop asking so many questions and just put it on to try out like your friends" she pointed towards your friends who were already opening the boxes and strapping them on their heads. You stopped asking questions and began to do the same. Upon everyone putting the headband camera on, you started to film each other like a bunch of idiots. Your mom brought her open palm down towards the four of you.
"Hop on, I want to get a good look at you guys" she said. You and your friends climb onto your mom's hand. She brought you up to her face.
"How are they? Do they feel secure?"
"Ya they fit perfectly Mrs. Swift. These things are pretty cool" Ethan said
"Perfect, I'm really proud of this idea. This should make it so much easier for you boys to get the information you need to finish your project."
"What do you mean mom?"
"Now instead of having to spend hours researching the digestive system, you can just go inside my body, use the cameras on your headbands to record some footage, and come out whenever you're ready." she said happily
"Mom are you serious, this sounds insane. I know that we can't be digested by stomach acid, but I've been swallowed by you before. It can still hurt" you said trying to reason with her
"Don't worry, I took an antacid tablet earlier so it shouldn't be too bad in there. Also, since I haven't eaten for so long, you shouldn't need to worry about running into any food" she said, patting her stomach
"This is crazy mom. I can't believe you think this is rational"
"Tom, I know this sounds crazy, but this will be a whole lot less thinking than if we were to do this normally. And the teacher said that she heavily incentives creativity. This could be our golden ticket to a 90 on this assignment" Josh said. You were starting to see his point. While it might be a bit of a crazy idea, this would be better than hours upon hours of research.
"See Thomas, it isn't a bad idea. I won't force you guys to do it though. I was just trying to help. How about you vote on if you want to do this as a team. I'll respect your decision either way." she said in a caring tone.
"What do you guys think. I would say that it would be best to go through with Mrs. Swift's idea, but I will respect whatever the majority decides on" Josh said.
"I really don't want to bore myself to death for hours looking at google scholar" Andrew said
"I've been eaten before, and it really isn't that bad. At least this way something exciting will be happening"
"You are an amazing woman Mrs. Swift, but I just don't think that I'm cut out for this. I've never been eaten before, and I think it shouldn't be that hard to do it the way we originally planned." Ethan said
"That's because you're a mega nerd Ethan" Andrew chimed in.
"Shut it Andrew" you and Josh chimed in
"That's okay baby, no offence taken" your mom said to Ethan
"That's two votes for, and one opposed. You get the final say Tom", Josh said conducting the vote
"I know I was against this originally, but it will definitely be less boring doing this my mom's way. On top of that the added bonus to the creativity portion of the rubric could really boost our grade. I say that we ________".
