You feel like you’re stuck to the cement for what feels like forever. As the girls talk about college and classes above you, even Chelsea is loosening up as they bitch about Professor Hancock. A very stern English teacher at the college.
“ yeah I get it 1984 has a lot to do with today’s political climate but when the hell are we ever gonna use that in real life,” Chelsea says annoyed because she still Has to write a 500-word essay on the book.
“ that’s rough I’m glad I’m in computer design”
“ dafuck!” Chelsea says dumbfoundedly to Melody.
“ hey don’t judge it’s what I’m in to ,” Melanie says a bit defensively.
“ Sorry, you just caught me by surprise” Chelsea tries to say.
“ it’s OK I’m used to explaining myself to people,” Melanie says deflatedly .
“ well you shouldn’t have to I’m sorry for stereotyping,” Chelsea says with a smile, and Melanie smiles back.
After that, the girls begin to talk realizing they have a lot in common. All three of them are into the same things including music. Talking about albums and concerts they like. It’s a beautiful moment even for you who is finally reformed and is beginning to swim to the surface. You being down there should’ve suffocated you but it turns out you can breathe underwater. You finally stand up on the cement and are about to swim to the surface when unbeknownst to you a male lifeguard blows his whistle.
“ ladies it’s dusk everybody out of the hot tub!”.
“ well this sucks,” Kendra says pouting, as she takes a step to leave the hot tub. You’re caught unaware and are crushed under her foot as it lifts though you’re stuck to the cement.
“ well it doesn’t have to be over,” Chelsea says walking towards the steps also stepping on you. Your crushed bubbles come out of your mouth as you scream. Then Chelsea‘s foot lifts off of you and you’re stuck even more to the concrete.
“ How so? Kendra asks as she grabs her towel.
“ how about drinks bitches” Chelsea says excitedly.
“ That sounds amazing but do you mind if I clean up first?”
“ no that’s perfect we can clean up and meet at O’Reilly‘s in an hour?” Kendra smiles at Chelsea and nods. You’re almost free again and are about to swim to the surface. When unbeknownst to you Chelsea turns towards Melody.
“ Hey, Mel you coming?”
Melanie is about to say yes of course when she pauses thinking of something. But she’s not sure what it is. If she was a tad bit smarter she would remember that it’s you she’s thinking about, again you’re almost reformed.
“ Melanie come on we don’t have all night” Chelsea calls over her shoulder as she walks towards the doors, and at that Melanie shrugs forgetting about you. She rises and walks towards the steps her pale white soul The last thing you see before it crushes you into the cement again.
