"I know! Why don't John and I explore the bouncy world," Phil said as he hopped up and down on the springy bed. "It will be a great adventure."
Carla giggled as an idea popped in her head. She reached deep into her pockets and pulled out several dimes. "And you have to find the buried silver that was left by the pirates." She then placed the dimes under her pillow on the opposite side of the bed.
"Oh, and beware, for a horrible monster guards the precious treasure." Carla then smiled and reached for a black pen and a green marker on her desk. She then sat down on the floor, hidden from Phil and John's view.
"I wonder what she meant by a 'horrible monster'?" Phil said as he lifted John and put him on his shoulder.
"Who cares? Let's nab that treasure!" John was very excited. He had not led a very happy childhood. Especially not under his sister's rancid toes. At the moment he was happy to be playing a game with good friends.
Phil and John navigated their way across the bed, which had a fluffy, pink comforter with big heart symbols. "This sure is a strange world," Phil said as he noted that their surroundings smelled of Carla's perfume. When they reached the pillow, the two small boys felt a rumbling on the bed. They were suddenly greeted by a five-headed monster! Actually, it was just Carla's right foot bouncing on the bed. She had painted her toes green and drawn scary faces on them with the black pen.
"Who dares?!" Carla said in a spooky voice as her foot approached the explorers.
Phil ran at the monster and attacked with a flying, jump kick. He connected but slid off Carla's smooth skin and fell to the ground. John tumbled off Phil's shoulders and laughed as he landed on the pink fuzz.
"Ow! You beat me!" Carla growled and then made a choking sound as her foot dropped to the side, landing right on Phil.
Phil tried to pry himself off of the defeated "monster", but could not. "Hey, get off," Phil said as he laughed. "Sorry, but my foot can't move. It's dead!" Carla teased as she smiled brightly. John moved toward Carla's foot and began to tickle it lightly. "Choochi choochi coo!"
Carla burst out laughing and quickly shifted her foot off of Phil. "How did you know I was so ticklish?"
John shrugged as he went to inspect his fallen comrade. "Well, you seem to take really good care of your feet. They're so smooth and sensitive." Phil sat up and nodded in agreement. "Yeah, and they smell good, too. Nothing like Amanda's sweaty, stinky toes."
"Well, I do make sure that my feet are in good shape. I want to be a dancer when I grow up." Carla then stood up and moved to the other side of the room. "Do you guys want to see my dance?"
Carla giggled as an idea popped in her head. She reached deep into her pockets and pulled out several dimes. "And you have to find the buried silver that was left by the pirates." She then placed the dimes under her pillow on the opposite side of the bed.
