Hope reappeared in Phil's mind, as Carla's face appeared to him, as if a goddess of hope was looking him straight in the face. "Don't worry," Carla told them. "I'll take care of you now." Suddenly, the sock closed around them.
On the outside, Carla ran outside of Amanda's house, with Amanda behind her. Carla's house wasn't too far away, but would she make it? After all, Amanda was a faster runner than her. Up ahead was her house. The door was unlocked. She burst in, slamming the door behind her and locking it. Amanda was pounding on the door outside.
Before Carla headed upstairs, her mother called her. "Carla, who's that at the door?" she asked, heading for the door. Before she unlocks the door, Carla interrupts, "Don't! That's....some maniac who followed me home." "That's not too far from the truth," John told Phil. They both laughed.
Carla headed to her bedroom and dumped Phil and John onto the bed. Finally, Phil felt at peace. Carla sat down next to them, a joyous grin on her face, followed by face of worry. Carla got up and headed for her phone. Who does she call first?
