All the girls agreed and they picked Lex to be "it." When Lex started counting, Mandy picked up her cousin, "Come on, Phil, I know the best hiding spot." She then proceded to take him under the bed with her and hide behind a pile of pillows and stuffed animals. "Sorry if you wanted to hide somewhere else, this is just to keep you safe."
Phil was in disbelief. Was this the same girl who made the past 3 days a living Hell for him. The same girl who enjoyed teasing and torturing him for almost his whole life? Mandy noticed his confused expression and started to pet him like a small hamster. "I never thought that I'd ever pity you. I always saw you as a doll or a bug." Phil got nervous when she said this, but Mandy continued talking, "But when I saw you thank us for keeping us from your mom and sister even if we were going to torture you without mercy, I ..... I." There was a long silence as she tried to find the right words to use. "I just felt really sorry for you, I saw you more like a person I guess." Phil was still silent but he calmed down a little when she said this. "Since you're not living with Becky anymore, maybe I can be your new sister and you can be my 'little' brother." She giggled a little when she said this. Phil gave out a quiet laugh too. He used to hate that joke when Becky used it every day but now it made him happy.
