Heather takes Phil into the living room and lowers him onto the seat of the couch. She kneels down, letting her face rest next to him, and lets out a whistle. Out of nowhere, Tinkerbell jumps up onto the couch. Phil's heart sinks into his stomach as he sees the monster staring at him. "...No. No! Not again!" Phil protests. "Oh, hush. It wasn't that bad", Heather responds. "Wasn't that bad? She ate me! I was literally in her stomach!" "And I got you out just fine. Besides, she was just playing. Weren't you, my cute little fluffy baby." The cat purrs as Heather scratches her under the chin.
"Isn't there some other way? Couldn't I go with you... or stay in a drawer or... something!?" Phil pleads as Heather ties the string around Tinkerbell's collar. "I'm sorry, Phil. I promised her last night that she could play with you all day today."
It was clear to Phil now. Heather wasn't going to change her mind. Looks like today was going to be another long day...
Phil sighs, disappointed, as Heather ties the string around his waist again, then leaves out the front door.
Once again, the two are left to stare at one another. Phil's mind works fast, thinking of a plan. Before Tinkerbell takes her first step forward, Phil grabs the string connecting them, wraps it into a loop, and lunges forward. The cat reels back in surprise, but recovers quickly. She hisses and opens her maw to snatch him.
Phil watches as she lowers her jaws as if waiting for him to jump inside. He runs straight toward the rows of sharp teeth but, at the last second, jumps sideways to safety.
Without missing a beat, Phil quickly throws the loop around the Tinkerbell's mouth. The string misses her lower jaw, but wraps itself around her upper jaw just fine. 'It will have to do', he thinks. While the cat is distracted with the string, he scrambles to the side of the cat and quickly climbs up the cat's fur.
He seats himself just behind her collar. Taking the string connecting him in one hand, and grabbing the string connected to Tinkerbell's collar in the other, he pulls the loop tight before Tinkerbell can push if off. Tinkerbell puts her head down and tries to push off the string, fruitlessly. 'Not too bad', Phil thought to himself as he sat atop the furry beast. 'Now what, though?' He hadn't planned this far ahead.
Tinkerbell suddenly starts to shake and buck around violently, trying to tear Phil from her back. He holds onto the strings as hard as he can. He sticks his feet between the cat's neck and the collar to help anchor himself down.
She continues thrashing like this for minutes. Phil starts to laugh in excitement now, feeling confident in his victory. He imagines this is what it's like to ride a bull. He's so caught up in the fun that he doesn't notice Tinkerbell biting and snapping at the string stuck to her upper jaw.
Bite after bite, the string slowly frays until finally the two severed ends of the string fall silently to the side.
Tinkerbell tries to shake him again. Phil was still laughing from the past few minutes when suddenly things took a turn for the worst. He pulled at the ends of the string again to steady himself, but this time the strings never went taught. He would have been thrown off entirely if it weren't for his legs being stuck inside the collar. Looking off to the side, he sees the strings hanging limp from his hands. 'Uh oh...' he thought. might be in some trouble...
In a desperate attempt to throw the pest off her back, Tinkerbell takes a large leap forward off the couch.
What happens to Phil?
