Melissa and Samantha giggle to each other as they make their way back to class. When they enter Ms. Li's karate class, they start acting like they were short of breath as if they were running.
Ms. Li turns to them sternly. "Girls! Why are you late?! Where is Julia and where is Phil?"
The girls "caught their breath" and explained their lie to Ms. Li. The instructor's eyes grew wide as they told their tale. Just as they finished, Julia entered with Phil in her fist.
"I found him girls!" Julia exclaimed. "He was hiding under a bench in the hallways. The tough guy probably got scared during passing time." she laughed.
Ms. Li, however, was not laughing. All of her anger was turned towards Phil. She grabbed him from Julia and held him close to her face.
"Clearly the lessons of the morning have been lost on you Phillip. We'll get to your punishment later, but first we clearly need to take more steps."
She turned to the Melissa, Julia, and Samantha. "You girls are all living in campus housing right?" the girls grinned and nodded affirmatively, they felt like they knew where this was going. "Come with me." Then to the rest of the class she said "Girls, get warmed up. I'll return shortly!"
Soon, Phil found himself deposited on the Principal's desk once again. He looked up to see a stern look on her face and a very angry look on Ms. Li's face.
Ms. Li started "So far this morning, Phil has shown a lack of respect for authority and for the rules of this school. He has demonstrated zero work ethic and in response to any challenge, his decisions have been to run away. This obviously comes from growing up spoiled with his family catering to his every whim. If we're ever going to do our job of getting him ready not only to interact with the people within this school but also to get ready for the real world, we need to get him out of that controlled environment. I recommend we move him out of his parent's house and into our on campus housing. Because of his size, it should be little additional cost. He can stay under the supervision of my best students, Samantha and Julia. Melissa also has demonstrated a strong work ethic and would be a great example for him."
The principal looked at Phil and thought for a moment. Phil tried to open his mouth in defense but the principal cut him off.
"Very well Ms. Li. I trust your judgement." She started, then looking to Samantha, Julia, and Melissa she said "You girls are OK with this added responsibility?"
The girls nodded their approval, hardly believing how well their plan turned out.
The Principal continued. "I'll call his mother to make the arrangements. You may return to class with Phil and the other girls."
Phil was once again grabbed up from the desk by Ms. Li and they returned to class to find the rest of the karate students finishing their warm ups.
Ms. Li opened her palm and looked at Phil. "Now....about your punishment...." she started...
